Dunne was poor under O'Neill for the last few months, and carried on that poor form for just about the entire period of Houllier's time in charge.  It's not the managers who are the problem, it's Dunne himself.  He's fat, likes a drink and is prone to making bad errors.  Collins is very injury prone as well, so I honestly can't see a valid reason for going into a new season relying on those two.  Add in Warnock's bad form/attitude, and we're hoping for an awfully big turnnaround from all three players.

We'd still have to sell them before replacing them. It's as though everything that we've been told for the past 12 months is being ignored.

Right i've had enough. Up until last night you were telling anyone who had a pessimistic viewpoint about our financial and transfer budget that there was money there, "look at Bent arriving in January" you said, "randy always backs the manager" you said. Now its like that never happened and you knew there was little money all along..Basically you're full of shit and its the biggest about turn on this forum evoh. Please go into politics where this sort of crap is appreciated

Again, you're telling lies to try to win on the Internet.

I said judge the transfer window at the end not in early July. I haven't once predicted what we'll spend.

I've also been consistent in saying that we have to work within a wage structure. It's obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense (and I realise that excuses many of you) that we're not going to get back into the situation of having players on good wages not being used. As it stands we've got Dunne, Collins, Cuellar and Clarke so unless that changes I don't expect us to buy a centre half as it would be against everything we've been told for the past 12 months.

The key is wages, do you get it now stupid?

we hadn't got players off the books when we got bought Makoun and Bent so that doesn't stand up for your "i've known for 12 months" revisionism. Are you really saying that as it stands, any player we have in the squad now that's not wanted has to be sold before we buy a replacement? Why did you not mention this opinion before today? It's almost as if your desperately trying to shift your point of view from..... oh, wasn't it a few days ago that you accused me of being an accountant because i thought Parker's wages and fee's was too high and yet here you are claiming Parker isn't an option because we can't shift any of our current midfielders...How times change.......

We'd got carew and Sidwell off the books, you daft apeth.

As I've tried to explain but you are unwilling or unable to grasp; I want us to sign Parker, personally I don't care about the wage bill. However, I realise that the club do so they are unlikely to go for it while they've got 6 other central midfield players on the books.
[/quote]

oh right, so while you agreed with our point of view on where the club is financially you'd just thought you fire out some abuse at us because you don't like people telling the truth on here? Fair enough

I think the concern is - well, my concern, I'll not speak for others - is that we have got players off the wage bill this summer and, as yet, have brought one player in. Recent comments from the manager suggested we're looking, at this point in time, at one more. So, we've made space in the squad...

Added to which, right now, we're not doing much in the way of losing the fringe players. In fact, we're keeping these and losing first team players. I'll play the long-term end of July/start of season/end of transfer window game - God knows we're all used to it now - but I'm getting worried. That won't change until I see some positive action.

Well, apart from Gardner the Elder, Shorey, Harewood, Sidwell, Davies and Carew, that is.

Does anybody else think it ironic that the person most likely to question others' (players or posters) mental health isby far the most obviously unhinged nut-job on here?

what? they all left before Bent and Makoun arrived? what about Pires? Following chris' strict wage regime (which he's known about for 12months but have kept it to himself while going on about Lerner spending big *cough*) he couldn't have come in before another guy going out surely?

MON hadn't sold Pongo Waring yet, even though he'd been a drain on the club since his death 30 years ago.

While i admire your self-analysis, perhaps these sort of public declarations are best left for off-topic

I only think you're a nutter. It's an accusation that you throw at almost anyone who disagrees with you.

If you're Aston Villa and you're after a Wigan player, do you need a pitch?

Apparently, he's quite keen to come anyway.

martinez didnt fancy it ,nzogbia may well be better seeing out his deal and having his pick of clubs on a free-i still fear his wage demands could scupper a move here too.
But it's been said several times above, Wigan cannot afford for him to run his contract down!

wigan cannot force him to leave either,he hasnt asked to leave and in a year would have many better options as a free and probably would make more money.
Wigan can force him to leave, by selling him to a club that will give him greater earning potential now. That's us at the moment.
The fact that the market ain't exactly queuing up to buy him now would suggest to his agent that a deal cut now is better than gambling on another 12 months in a shit team.

in 12 months he can walk away with no club being asked to pay £10m fee -of course there will be more options , wigan cannot force him to leave and he can see it out if he wishes and negotiate a much better deal on a free,

he may see villa as a midtable option and decide its not for him .
You're right, but it is not in Wigan's interest and so they will try and make a deal work for themselves and CNZ ... is the only point I was trying to make.
