Dunne was poor under O'Neill for the last few months, and carried on that poor form for just about the entire period of Houllier's time in charge.  It's not the managers who are the problem, it's Dunne himself.  He's fat, likes a drink and is prone to making bad errors.  Collins is very injury prone as well, so I honestly can't see a valid reason for going into a new season relying on those two.  Add in Warnock's bad form/attitude, and we're hoping for an awfully big turnnaround from all three players.

We'd still have to sell them before replacing them. It's as though everything that we've been told for the past 12 months is being ignored.

Right i've had enough. Up until last night you were telling anyone who had a pessimistic viewpoint about our financial and transfer budget that there was money there, "look at Bent arriving in January" you said, "randy always backs the manager" you said. Now its like that never happened and you knew there was little money all along..Basically you're full of shit and its the biggest about turn on this forum evoh. Please go into politics where this sort of crap is appreciated

Again, you're telling lies to try to win on the Internet.

I said judge the transfer window at the end not in early July. I haven't once predicted what we'll spend.

I've also been consistent in saying that we have to work within a wage structure. It's obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense (and I realise that excuses many of you) that we're not going to get back into the situation of having players on good wages not being used. As it stands we've got Dunne, Collins, Cuellar and Clarke so unless that changes I don't expect us to buy a centre half as it would be against everything we've been told for the past 12 months.

The key is wages, do you get it now stupid?

McLeish, speaking at Villa's kit launch with new partner Genting, has already signed keeper Shay Given.

And he said: "We are trying to bring another player in of quality who we believe can play in the Villa shirt.

"We will continue to monitor that one as well as a few others. We have to have a list of other players in case it falls through.

"I am open-minded about it because I have been in this situation many times before and we have ended up with a custard pie."

McLeish confirmed defender Carlos Cuellar may rejoin Rangers in a £2million deal and has permission to speak to them.

Championship Leicester want to re-sign Emile Heskey from Villa but have not agreed a fee.

Are you now using the royal "we" when speaking for yourself, or are you actually now speaking for everyone else on here?

Consistent from what point in time?  I certainly don't recall you criticising O'Neill for doing exactly that.

we hadn't got players off the books when we got bought Makoun and Bent so that doesn't stand up for your "i've known for 12 months" revisionism. Are you really saying that as it stands, any player we have in the squad now that's not wanted has to be sold before we buy a replacement? Why did you not mention this opinion before today? It's almost as if your desperately trying to shift your point of view from..... oh, wasn't it a few days ago that you accused me of being an accountant because i thought Parker's wages and fee's was too high and yet here you are claiming Parker isn't an option because we can't shift any of our current midfielders...How times change.......

From the point of view of accepting that this now club policy as it clearly wasn't for the first 3 years uner O'Neill. I'm not saying I like it (I'm a fan I want us to spend 50 quidzillions every window) but there's no point in arguing with it because it is the way they are going to run the club and when discussing transfers we have to take that into account.

Collins is adequate, and committed.

However Dunne and Warnock are a pair of shit bastards I'd quite happily see the back of.

Dunne's performance at home against Wigan should be sent to McLeish, the fat fucking wanker was a disgrace that day, especially as our arses were still firmly on the line at that point

Agree. If we get in N'Zogbia we have a decent side going forward (though without depth). It's the defence that worries me. I have much less faith in Warnock and Dunne than I do Ireland who has expressed a desire to reform and make a go of it next season. Ireland's issues are not related to fitness or form (as for the Michelin Man) or ability (Warnock) so I have much less confidence in them. The thing about Ireland is that if things go wrong with him we can at least call upon Bannan or Delph or even Gary Gardner to fill in. We have much less strength at the back especially if Cuellar goes. How much of a chance do we give them? It would be too quick if we decided so after one PL game or a series of pre-season games where people are barely trying. Just how much could they set us back if we left them until January?

We'd got carew and Sidwell off the books, you daft apeth.

As I've tried to explain but you are unwilling or unable to grasp; I want us to sign Parker, personally I don't care about the wage bill. However, I realise that the club do so they are unlikely to go for it while they've got 6 other central midfield players on the books.
