Sorry John but i don't get what you're saying really. Were the likes of Dunne and Warnock putting on their inability to defend or tackle because they disliked the manager or coach so much? Or are you saying GH got the best out of them after January and you're very sorry he left? Either they're shit or the manager was.

The manager was, IMO.

right, so they wouldn't play for him, erm except they did after January. Which begs the obvious question of "WHY DO WE WANT THESE SORT OF CHARACTERS PLAYING FOR US NEXT SEASON?

No need to shout, you come across like a toddler having a tantrum!

Well, unless I miss my guess they were injured for a reasonable portion of the early season?  And as the new manager came in and changed a lot very quickly, I'd imagine they, like most of the rest of the squad, had trouble adapting, which got better over time.  Players lose and regain form over a season, they're no different.

I know, shit wasn't it? We were 10 points off 6th also, and maybe if more of us concentrated this being a new season, with some renewed sense of hope, and on what we could achieve with some stability as opposed to just looking downwards, then we might do better than we did last year.
Jesus wept.  Why don't we all sit round in a circle, hold hands and concentrate really hard on the FA Cup; then we might win it.

Dunne was poor under O'Neill for the last few months, and carried on that poor form for just about the entire period of Houllier's time in charge.  It's not the managers who are the problem, it's Dunne himself.  He's fat, likes a drink and is prone to making bad errors.  Collins is very injury prone as well, so I honestly can't see a valid reason for going into a new season relying on those two.  Add in Warnock's bad form/attitude, and we're hoping for an awfully big turnnaround from all three players.

We'd still have to sell them before replacing them. It's as though everything that we've been told for the past 12 months is being ignored.

I think Dunne and Collins if they want to are a good, solid partnership. My expectation is that they'll want to prove a few people wrong and we'll see them back to their best. If not, presumably, they'll be replaced in time. Not so sure with Warnock but McLeish spoke well about his attitude in training the other day.

That would simply be not good enough if they start performing like Laurel and Hardy and we slide down the table like last season.
It looks like Cuellar is off so the only alternative to those two is Young Clark and Baker.
That won't cut it.

Don't be ridiculous.  We'll all sit round holding hands and concentrate on a big orange dot.

Right i've had enough. Up until last night you were telling anyone who had a pessimistic viewpoint about our financial and transfer budget that there was money there, "look at Bent arriving in January" you said, "randy always backs the manager" you said. Now its like that never happened and you knew there was little money all along..Basically you're full of shit and its the biggest about turn on this forum evoh. Please go into politics where this sort of crap is appreciated

Let's be honest, there are people on here who would still think we'd have a storming season even if Oscar Pistorius and Seamus from Family Guy were our centre backs.

I wonder if the plan is to lower expectations so much, that anything other than relegation will be looked on as a triumph?

Clearly you weren't around when we signed Harewood...Or 10 seconds after we appointed McLeish.

Agreed.  Some of the repositioning on here has been shameful.

not even close. 24 hours ago it was "Randys loaded", now he's telling Risso we have to watch the budget, which is what Risso's been saying for10 months! Mentalism

what exactly does Jesus wept even mean? Maybe you should have added "End Of" at the end of that sentence to really make your quite irrelevant point stand out.

We were 9 points away from the bottom three at the end of the season. If the negativity at the club continues (and I do not mean at fan level) there is every chance we could go down.

We've lost two international wingers, who happened to create and score most of our goals.
Perhaps we'll have to rely on Dunne losing his weight, Warnock to regain form and pray that our youngsters turn into premiership performers overnight.
