This statement worries me, though, because if we are, actually, after more than one player, the teams we are negotiating with will see the size of the pot we have to spend at around £40m from the sale of Young and Downing - both Wigan and West Ham could think, 'Well, they still have 36m of that left, so our prices go up - they only want one player in this window, so we'll have a chunk of that, thanks'. It always strikes me as naive to give away how much you have to spend or how many players you want to buy, or even to enter into discussions about it, as that could affect the price. Rather just say. 'We have some money and will be active in the transfer market'.

Radio WM with doom and gloom commentary from Paul Franks ("Randy's not interested any more") and everyone turns into a cross between a lynch mob and a suicide squad. God, I'm so glad that the main contributors (whingers and moaners) on this site aren't representative of the majority of Villa fans I know. Although, no doubt, they are the vocal minority of boo boys at matches that make our club look so silly in the press and on TV by turning on our own people at the slightest excuse, thereby exacerbating the problems that they're so worked up about (like conceding a goal, for example). Moyes is on record commenting on this trait at VP, which may have influenced the fact that he never ever had the slightest intention of coming here.

Why don't those of you who have threatened to, just give your season tickets up and leave the rest of us to suport the team?

It's been a few days since we last had a "I'm a better supporter than you" post on here.
What a strange comment?

You mean the bullshit comment you made at the end of your post? I quite agree.

Makes sense that when we go on tour Nzogbia will join Given with us. As has been stated another part of the mind games in signing him with the Wigan chairman

Who knows, it may not just be mind games with Wigan, maybe there's another club out-pricing us for a player.

We need three more in me thinks.

Those 3 looking like loan/frees. Sturridge,Hitz etc.

Mcleish has said in interview on talksport he will only be buying one more player in the transfer window, but there will be money in an emergency if needed in January- his brief is to develop the young players and utilise squad players not used last season .

trouble is those squad players are not good enough thats why their squad players weve lost 4 actual starters and only replaced 1

The last sentence of my post was a question (somewhat rhetorical) not a comment.

The main gist of my post was that I'm glad that the main regular contributers to this site are a few score people and not representative of the main body of support. This isn't saying "I'm a better supporter than you", it's pointing out that there's a few gullible, change like the wind, panic minded dick-heads on here.

I agree with the guy who said you'd all be shit at poker.

Malc what makes our club silly is the general "fuckwittery" associated with the board. I pay my money and if I see a disgraceful performance like Sunderland at home last season then at the end of the game I will boo.

Everton got booed regularly last season, Arsenal got booed, Sunderland got booed, Wolves got booed - can you see a pattern emerging.

Lets look at the facts:

1. Board appoint a manager from hated rivals and double his wages.

2. Board have to pay off MON

3. Board have to pay off GH

4. Board have to give Blues compo for AM and backroom staff

5. NRC an 8 million signing leaves for free

6. AM says youth will get a chance

7. AM says everyone has clean slate

8. AM says may not have all transfer money raised to spend on players

9. Wigan state publically that they want 10 million for Nzogbia and then he's on his bike. We offer 9 million and that's take it leave it. Cue lessers signings because Wigan "took the piss"

Now if there is anything positive to come out of this summers bollock up then please point it out

As much as I'm more optimistic than most about McLeish I'd hope this 'one more player' bollox is Redknapp-style hoodwinking.

If not we'll not push on from midtable and could, if the same players who under-performed last year do so again, be in for another scrap.  As for money 'available in case of an emergency'?  That is very concerning indeed as it's not how a big club operates in any way, shape or form.  I haven't heard the interview and am struggling to get my head around it but will continue to reserve my judgement until the season starts.

According to someone on VT he said he is working on one signing at the moment. So it gives the comment a slightly different slant.

Like a lot on here, i would find it hard to believe that Randy would all of a sudden rein in the spending, especially after he was apparently willing to back GH in the summer.

I sort of hope we don't buy too many, and that we give opportunities to the Bannans, Clarks, Licjahs etc of this world.A Parker and N'Zog would probably do me tbh, maybe a new LB, and a CH if we sell Warnock/Dunne as well.

Nzogbia in before we tour and that's the 2 biggest holes filled with the chance for Mcleish to assess the squad and make further decisions. Clubs will have to sell and then be more realistic.

Just listening to the WM interview, he's said at the moment there's only one more coming in, then he'll take stock. He wants to give the other big money signings a chance and the money is there if it's needed.

Well that makes more sense than 'only one more in and that's yer lot'
