Who would play wide midfield if albrighton or n'zogbia are injured? Bannan and the fonz? Hogg? Yikes!

And our defence invoves relying on Warnock coming off hunger strike, and the two clowns in the centre who let us down so badly last year starting to give a shit again.

Oh well, at least we'll have the ever reliable Mr Ireland in midfield

Hopefully it's all bullshit, some game as we are in negotiations with a batch of clubs over players and all wil want to sell us our "one more player". We can then do a press conference with 8 new players. *wishful thinking smiley*

The biggest problem now though is that I can believe that we could well only sign one more player before the transfer window shuts. And i'm sure most posters here can believe that it could be true as well. That's how much our image of Randy has changed in the past 12 months or so.

true and it ties in with kendrick , nursey and co , who said the money wasnt there , bent was bought on youngs sale and downings will have funded nzog and given , things must be bad if we need to sell carlos for just £2m, i was hoping for 3 or 4 quality players .

nursey even reported a bust up between randy and mcleish as they wouldnt pay for his backroom staff , maybe carlos is paying for them?

at least we didnt go for barry ferguson!

It doesn't make a lot of sense, you release a new kit which I assume you want people to buy. Then your manager goes and makes a statement like this. It's very much putting me off bothering with the kit. I'm furious if this is true. We are the only club with a sell and sell some more policy.

We look dire in midfield and defence. Collins, Dunne and Warnock being reliable is not a bet I would like to make.

Disapointing if we do end up with only one more, but i reckon we may see another couple after N'Zogbia, possibly on loan.

Thinking about it, i'm surprised McCleish was there at all, manager's normally are'nt at Kit unveiling's.

I'd be prepared to bet that we sign more than one more player between now and the end of August.

Anyone fancy taking me up?

I wouldn't. In fact I don't believe for one second that we only have one more signing left in us. I'll happily eat my hat and everyone elses if come Sept 1st our squad has only one extra new body.

Exactly.  The gullible nature of quite a few here is pretty stunning.  Why do you think AMC put the statement out there?  Because he knew everyone would eat it up, including those at WAFC.  Mission accomplished.  He's got everybody talking about it, and I bet Whelan is too.

Remember the time when supposedly the club didn't have enough money to buy a striker?  Time to sack up, folks.

utter rubbish -sack up yourself.

If it is all crap to flush Whelan's hand fair play, but I get the impression it isn't.

If we go in with this squad plus NZogbia, I reckon 12th will be a good achievement. Newcastle are signing some decent players, Sunderland have a much stronger squad (sorry Darren), while others will strengthen too I am sure. We have to sign 2 wingers and a quality central midfield player. Even if the plan is 4-3-3 with Gabby right of Bent and NZogbia left, with Albrighton as back up, it would leave us precious short in the centre of midfield.

I don't think he was, it looked like a BH press conference on Midlands Today.

Well there goes all the of the comments from the General that Randy always backs the manager. This is fucking shocking.

Perhaps McLeish is happy with the size and quality of his 22 man squad. Perhaps he genuinely sees Beye, Warnock and Ireland as like new signings.
He may be wrong. He may be right. It's his judgement that's on the line.

Whether he does or not, Randy will have left him hung out to dry when it fails.

My point is that maybe there is more money to spend but McLeish is genuinely confident in what he's seen in pre-season training to keep some of his powder dry for January.

The way WM have been running it, a reporter spoke to him at the kit launch but i may be wrong.

there will be money kept back in case he urgently needs to make a signing he said , which i guess means in january as with bent ,surely we can get a loan deal somewhere but seems only 1 major cash signing to come, pity we cant try and get nige back.
