This had better not be true:

Alex McLeish tells BBC WM that #avfc will make "one more signing" before start of new season.

I don't believe McLeish would tell the press how many people we are signing however.

No i dont believe that, hopefully its a ploy to listen to the interview at 7pm and it will be something like ill will definately be making at least one signing before the season starts

What I find surprising is that no other credible club IS after NZogBia ... why not, if he's as good as people think here?

If we only sign one more player this summer, then we will have a bloody torturous season ahead, and Bent will be gone next summer, AND Lerner will have not backed the man he has put in charge. I would be amazed.

Because the top 6 teams have better wide men, Everton & Sunderland cant afford fee or wages and Nzogbia doesnt want to go to Newcastle. He wants to join us no question. Only other team I'd fear is someone like PSG who have new found wealth. Annoying as this is Im still pretty confident he'll be a Villa Player hopefully by end of next week. I just hope if Whelan is messing us about and were making them sweat, A-mac is trying to get other deals done for other positions that clearly need filling.

Actually sratch that,  out of the top 6 teams I'd have Nzogbia ahead of Malouda for Chelsea or Arshavin for Arsenal

Come on everyone. Why would a PL football manager tell a poxy radio station his transfer strategy? Why would be specific about the number of players he will definitely sign? Utter bollox. Don't fall for it.

I've just seen him say on Midlands Today that "we're looking to sign one more".

Ok, for the entire transfer window, or just before the start of the season? I'll wait to see if it's true off course, and yes, I'd be concerned if it ends up being the case.

If this does end up being true it's another disaster to add to list, unacceptable.
