Mirror directly quotes Whelan saying the bid was 9 and they want 10. Stop pissing about and sort it Villa.

but, if holding at 9 million gets us the player, plus a million left over (One Million Pounds) to go on wages or towards another player, why should they increase the offer?  It would also help our credibility at another point, when tryig to buy another player that when Villa put £x on the table, they mean £x.  Not, "oh dont worry, we will just add another million here or there".

Whelan is quoted saying it's £10 million or no deal. Pay it Villa.

If Wigan have decided on a price and we offer less, then they have every right to turn the offer down.
It was the same with Redscouse and Downing, we had a price, they offered less and we turned them away until they paid what we wanted.

Because its a fair price in relation to Downing, pay it. And then have nothing to do with that fossilised pie wrangling old monkey bollock again.

The price was 9Million, he's then budged it up to 10Million hence the stand off.

As i've said before.

It's all very well saying
'Oh just pay the extra million'
A million is a lot of money by anybodys standards.

They'll probably reach a compromise of £9.5m and all well and good as the money saved can be used elsewhere.

I posted yesterday that we have been quick enough wasting money left right and centre on ridiculous wages, inflated transfer fees, selling players at massive losses and manager compensation.

Signing Nzogbia would give us all a lift and get a bit of a buzz back at the club so just pay the 10 million

Couldn't agree more US.
Let's get the boy on our books and show everyone, other teams, our players, the press, us included, that the club is investing in its vision of progress and success....whatever that means!

It is a lot of money, but not by Premier League standards.  Certainly not risking somebody else coming in and doing the deal under our noses for.  I don't imagine we have many other wingers being tracked, so we need him in asap to get training with the squad.

Can't we see if Wigan want Beye or Heskey instead of paying the £1m?

;-)

thing is somebdy else has to come in and offer a solid £10m, not offer an extra £1m. It's all good and well saying just pay it, but it doesn't look like anybody else wants to pay £10m either. Seemingly £9m is all anyone wants to pay, and the only proper offer is from us.
