Is the 3 club rule per calendar year or season?
If it's season then I'd be worried about Citeh needing to fill a Tevez, 25 goal a season, sized gap in their team!

Bent isn't the type of player that would fill the void left by Tevez I think. 2 very different styles.

there were some tweets posted on here last week allegedly from gabbys brother suggesting he was not very happy with things at all-surely theres no way they could consider selling bent surely?

Mcleish doesn't strike me as the sort of manager to have his arm twisted in the transfer market, I reckon he'll leave the N'zogbia bid for a while and wait for Whelan to realise that nobody else is in the running for him, before accepting the same offer. In the mean time I would love to see us have a real go at signing Juan Manuel Vargas, all the times I've seen him play on ESPN he's been fantastic, he plays in a very similiar way to Gareth Bale, galloping down the flank and putting plenty of balls in, it will be interesting to see if there is anything in this rumour though.

As much as my feelings for Gabby blow hot & cold I think we'd be stupid to sell him.

I can't see any of our younger players going (yet).

I agree, i don't think we get anything like as much out of Gabby as is there, he's tarred with this 1 trick pony label but actually you only have to look at his contribution throughout a game and the threat he carries, think Houllier treated him like rubbish and Villa counted the cost of that, where i live a lot of friends of mine are Chelski or Arsenal, Spurs fans, all where delighted last year when the threat Gabby carried had receded, more than happy to meet the threat that Bent carries head on, no problem, but always thought Gabby's pace was very unpredictable and dangerous.

We will see, I would doubt its true Gabby is a big Villa fan.

opta sports
296 - Over the past two PL seasons, Charles N'Zogbia (554) has embarked on 296 more dribbles than any other player. Resolute.

gabby to newcastle would make sense as they were linked with him on deadline day and if his brothers tweets are to be believed hes not happy at villa.

i dont think he is the man to play alongside bent and if he is sold id expect mcleish to have someone lined up who would be a better bet alongside bent,i know at blues he was very keen on pavlyuchenco from spurs who would maybe sell him.

Our response to Wigan's 'apparent' rejection of our bid should be to make an opening offer for Vargas whilst flipping Whelan the bird! Publicly! (or else increase the offer by adding Beye to it!)

Any further news on Emily's proposed trip to Leicester?

Not that it matters a great deal, But I'm sure I spotted something mentioning a fair while back that he was an Arsenal fan at school. Perhaps one of his Edmund Campion school mates can confirm or deny.

I do know for certain there was an interview with Central News the day after he had scored the equaliser against Everton (at VP in 2006/07) where the interviewer said something like 'it must have been great to score in front of the Holte, where you used to stand as a fan,' and he said he never went to matches.

I'm sure the club is a big part of his life now though, and it would be a wrench to leave.

Well, if GA were to leave - and I hope not - then we should immediately pay what it takes to get Sturridge.

Don't rate him at all, never have. Bags of pace but not a good finisher. I would be mortified if we went for him.
NO WAY!!!

Agbonlahor is the most overrated player i have EVER seen. All of those who think he is a proven premier league player are correct - he's proved himself to be shyte! I know football is all about opinions but on this subject i cannot stand by and watch people praise a completely bollox player! All speed an absolutely no footballing brain.

I'd rather have Carlton Cole and that is saying something about how highly (or not) i rate Gabriel Agbonlahor as Cole is also one of the worst stikers i've seen in the prem...

bad news for me if Gabby goes,

the three most overated players that i've always fell out with people on here about were Downing, NRC and Gabby,

2 down already but if Gabby goes, i'l have nobody else to moan about

There are suggestions that Wigan are asking something ridiculous for N'Zogbia. It might not be a million that is in it.

About 50 different stories doing the rounds. I still feel we're close to sorting it out.

I never recall him saying he supported anyone. He just loved football. I think the bit in bold is the key.
