Hope it works out for Emile...he's still a legend there and they will love him to bits. And he will be up for it against the scum.

Be glad to see back of him though.

(The fee seems a bit pathetic considering what MON paid and the wages he's on)

If heskey leaves it'll make up for a shit summer....source?

I don't mind him leaving, but is there a replacement lined up? We have a habit of cutting the squad numbers without ready made replacements. The same goes for Cuellar. The squad, sorry ''small'' squad is dangerously thin now. We embark on a pre-season tour to Asia next week - you can bet there will be a couple of injuries which will be great preparation for the new Premier League campaign. We will need at least 6 players in to get a half decent squad. The turnover in players this last 12 months has been crazy and once again we'll head into the new season under ''prepared''

Any money back from him is a bonus i reckon. Probably easier to get rid of Greek bank shares

Yep, it does look like a mess again. Think we'll all be here on the 31st August praying for some last minute deals as per the MON era.

I just can't understand the mentality of leaving yourself so weak. Is Lerner that desperate to reduce the wage bill come what may? A crazy strategy. Has anyone got a list of outgoings including the likely departures of Cuellar and Heskey?

Lets face it, any opportunity to get shot of Heskey should be firmly grasped whatever the consequences for next weeks tour. He is reportedly our top paid player and has fallen well short of expectations.

Obviously though Cuellar and Heskey going means a new centre back and a new centre forward. Obviously. No timescale on that though of course.

Some above seem to be of the opinion that we should hold onto Heskey until we have a replacement signed, to me that carries a very real risk that Leicester couldl change their minds and find something else to spend the Heskey money on, a new toaster for the staff canteen perhaps.

Depends what formation Eck wants to play. I think the squad/players we have are pretty well set up for a 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid formation. So to that end I think Bent, Gabby, Fonz, Wee-Man are enough (only really playing 1 striker in that formation). If we go 4-4-2 then I think we need another striker as back up to Bent/Gabby. Although with Fonz having signed that new deal I've a suspicion he will play a key role this year.

I dont see it as obvious at all im afraid as if you go on last season and how Big Eck sent out his teams @ Blues we will only be playing with one out and out forward and after Bent we have Gabby, Fonz and Wiemann so we have that position covered

Lets hope we don't get an injury crisis like last season.  We'd struggle to field a team currently.

To be fair i would get shot ASAP, but we need to buy a new striker if he goes, will it happen though? We certainly should have found a replacement for Downing before selling though, and probably should before Cuellar also.

Wouldn't surprise me if he sticks with the youngsters up front if Bent is out/needs partner...hasn't Fonz just signed a new contract? Would N'Zog fill role as "winger" and inside forward?
Our centre backs are decidedly dodgy unless they miraculously rediscover their form from 2 seasons ago, just as they miraculously became shite last season! C Clark is the best we have I reckon!

Have we had any sightings of Dunne yet? Did they have to hire a crane and take off the dressing room roof to get him in? I really think his past caught up with him last season and unless he's spent the summer on a diet he's not going to be in much better shape.
