Belt up nash.

It seems we've bid £8m for Parker and Chelsea have pulled out so we look like getting him.

According to the Daily Record weve accepted a 2mill bid for King Carlos!!

The only sense i can see in selling Cuellar (i am assuming to Rangers) is if we have agreed a deal for Mcgregor ........

Fine by me. In three years time we'll have Gardner and Delph taking over, if not sooner.
In the mean time we need a leader and an enforcer on the pitch and there isnt many more convincing than Parker available.

So we dont sell him, so what?

Mostly "twitterings" from journos. But ones who have had a good lead on things lately.
No guarantees, obviously.

I've read in the Birmingham Mail that we've offered 7 million for Parker... also says, Chelsea want him as a short-term replacement for Essien, dunno though.

I'm a big advocate of Parker, I think he's brilliant and despite what people think, he deserved winning the PFA award. When I've watched him play for West Ham I'm just marveled at how well he keeps the ball and how well he passes the ball successively, the only player I can compare to what he does is Xavi.

He's excellent at keeping posession, has great vision and has a pretty good shot on him. He's exactly the type of midfielder we need.

If we can get Parker I'll be over the moon because I rate him very highly. He may be 30 but he'll always be a classy player.

The "Daily Record" has a very good transfer record on its reports of Aston Villa. Would love Dann and Foster .............

Depends if we can afford that sort of view and whether delph and gardner work out how you(me, everyone) hope. Bottom line is he's a year younger than petrov who's been on the turn for the last season or so. You betting he'll still be the same influence next season or the season after? We're not man U where we  can afford to nurse the likes of giggs and scholes through their declining years and resting them. He's gonna have to play 30 odd games a season at least

We cant afford not to really. We're light an experienced combative midfielder. Its not a position you can afford to ignore.
Parker is the sort of player you build a team around. Or in this case rebuild.

Wright-Phillips is utter cack.

And he looks increasingly like a malnourished Dizzee Rascal.

It's a no for me.

I'd be very happy with Parker for the simple reason that he's significantly better than what we have currently in that position.

It's iffy, but £2 million for Townsend was way too much for a 30 year old back then, and we more than got our money's worth. In fact, he was pretty much gash in his first season. So it was only when he was 31+ when he really came into his own and justified the fee.

Players take better care of themselves today (the tarts)  so he could well -in theory- go on until he's 37/38.  Probably not for us though at that stage.
