What an unconvincing article, which is basically Bruce saying he's happy with what he's got.
I'm not sure how they would gazump us anyway.

If N'Zogbia chooses Sunderland over us, it'll show quite how far our stock has fallen.
It may also depend on how much his agent can get out of them and how much they are prepared to pay him!!!
Unless a nailed on top 4 club I don't think "modern" footballers give a f**k about who they play for!

I'd be happy for us to look closer to home in either Matt Jarvis or Chris Brunt.

Page 500. Feels like we gone back to the MON days waiting for our first signing.

No, it would show that Villa under its present parsimonious regime are unwilling to pay the level of wage that Sunderland / ANother club are.

Lets face it he can't be terribly fussy as he was prepared to join SHA, so long as they coughed up 60k a week.

Same with Given, the most likely reason it is taking so long is that we are not offering a wage he is prepared to accept. Nothing to do with us not being an attractive enough club, more that others will pay more at the moment.

Hang on one second. We took their best player and paid him more.

To be fair the Given delay could be Man City playing hardball on the price and/or waiting for them to get a replacement. Imagine that, waiting to get a replacement before you sell.

Don't think it will happen Maz, just saying that if it did it would not be anything to do with us being seen as a lower class of club. I fully expect us to sign him up in the next couple of days.

Given is tougher as he will be on silly money at Man City, expect we are asking him to drop down, and he is asking them to subsidise it.

No, Liverpool bought their best player in a non-panic-buy when they spent 20 mil on the amazing, proven, better-than-Bent world beater Jordan Henderson...........  ;)

IMO, we need 2 proven performers for the wide roles. Adam Johnson would be a sensational signing but I can't see City selling. NZogbia is a must from what I saw of him last season. Then I would gamble 3 million and a 2 year contract on Wright Philips. Tournement year, last chance saloon and I think he would do really, really well for us. Get him in form one side and NZogbia the other and we would hurt a lot of teams, and it would be cheap.

Parker I reckon has 3 seasons in him, so is worth 7 million tops. Good captain though, and would settle the squad down a bit.

I'm another who is giving the thumbs up over Parker. Yeah, he's the wrong side of thirty but our midfield was getting overrun last season which exposed the failings of our centre-backs. Parker is not just a player who breaks up attacks, but he's a clever user of the ball too. Get him in.

Vargas and N'Zogbia then. With Parker in the middle.
Happy days! :)

Kendrick has just tweeted that Villa have bid £10m for N'Zogbia.
