the daily mirror

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is pushing the club to splash out £7million on Scott Parker - and is also eyeing Fiorentina winger Juan Manuel Vargas as a replacement for Stewart Downing.

Got to say I'm going to need a better source that that. But hopefully true.

Hmmm. Actually, Tarabat could be a good shout. Not entirely sure of his contract situation at QPR but I had read he had asked to leave. From what I've seen he's a versatile attacking player who can play either wing and off the striker. If we could get him and N'Zogbia we'd be well covered for wide, attacking players, complementing the fact we've already got Albrighton.

You're linking out of date articles to be honest Suspect.
I think things are moving apace today regarding Zog.

I very much doubt Everton could pip us to him and Sunderland have already denied a link.

Maybe somebody else will come in but I'd be very suprised if we didn't get him to be honest.

Whilst N'Zogbia is a step in the right direction, there is still a massive amount of work to be done.

Mr Lerner Sir needs to demonstrate over the next few weeks if he still has the ambition for us that he seemingly once had.

Those articles state Everton have to sell so they can afford N'Zogbia. They haven't sold anyone in the last 24 hours so unless Moyes has found £9million down the back of one of the couches at the training ground it won't be them.

With Newcastle ruled out of signing him, I worry that only Sunderland could nick him from us.

Hopefully Bruce sticks to his word that he isn't interested.

I'm hoping we get a bid accepted today or tomorrow, this has been a fucking miserable summer for us.
