Gabby's brother on twitter... Definitely his own opinion but reading inbetween the lines it doesn't look like Gabby's overly happy.

@VitalVilla Did well to get 4 in 10 considering. Needs to play for a January move IMO.

Roger Johnson, seven million pounds!! WTF.
Why is that a surprise?

He was £5m when he was a promising centre-back from a mid-table Championship club.

I would say he stock has risen considerably since then.

Seems a lot to pay, both for Wolves to shell out and for a player of his ability.  He's not bad but, not great.  Great price for Blues.  I think they win this one.

£7 million for a "not bad" player is an absolute bargain in the current market.

I thought Gabby wanted to stay at Villa, and Erdington High Street, for life?

I saw his ''quickfire questions'' about non-football items by Woodward on avtv recently. Absolute cringeworthy. Gabby didn't exactly debunk the ''thick as two short planks'' tag, but he came across as being good craic to have a drink with (though he doesn't drink beer, he revealed).

Problem with both Dann and Johnson is that they were blessed with having three industrious midfielders infront of them and a decent keeper behind. Without that protection they might not looks so good.

MM and others did say back in Oct/ Nov that the new management (as was) weren't overly impressed with Gabby in training. You can always choose to believe or ignore that kind of second hand info.

Little over two months later though,  we had Bent signed for Gabby's position and there were rumours of a move to Newcastle - from the Newcastle end.  Had GH remained I wouldn't have been surprised to see Gabby depart at all. But I would have hoped that his dissatisfaction left town when Houllier did.

Clean slate under the new boss, and all that jazz.

I'm sure I read somewhere (sorry, sounding like eastie all of a sudden) that McLeish thinks Gabby is brilliant.

I thought I read that as well. He did get a few goals against the blues.

Johnson at £7m is a good solid signing for wolves and value for money .

I agree.

I can't see why someone would think he would move for any less than that.

I still think Dann is the better player and at 24 would be a great signing for us.
Or is Eck gonna settle for trying to get the best out of Dunne, Collins and Cuellar (+ Clarke)?

Big Eck has said that Dann is out of his price range

I know. Bugger ennit?
The other 4 between them should give us what we need, but Dunne and Collins need to get back to being as tight as they were two seasons ago instead of getting pissed and blaming the management!
Out of the 4 named who would be on your team sheet?

Hey, Gabby's Brother!  Stop making life difficult for your brother won't you?  What Gabby has going for him in spades is that he's a Villa fan and a brummie, he's also a good footballer and fans favourite so talk of him playing for a fucking winter move aint helping alright?
