The odds have dropped apparently from 20-1 to 6-1 on Scott Parker going back to Chelsea, which if you take into account the probably season ending injury to Essien does make some sense

Avb would have been coaching there when Parker was a player and it wouldn't surprise me if Chelsea moved in- I think he will go to Chelsea or spurs, doubt we will get him.

One thing comes to mind. Why go after a manager that you have to pay for if money is very tight?
They must have known it was likely that compensation would be due.

I'm therefore skeptical about rumours of extreme austerity.
