Ireland is best in 433. But not on the wing!!!

See, that looks good too, VS.

Again, I'm sure we're just a couple of smart signings (not necessarily mega bucks ones) from being not only a good side, but a good side with a range of playing styles.

I really hope McLeish manages to fulfil that.

Add to that we have cover for the front 3 (Albrighton, Bannan, Gabby - assuming Downing has gone) and also in Centre of Defence (Cuellar, Collins, Lichaj, Young). My worry would be in midfield, lose on of them three and we'd be short with only Petrov as back up.

I thought that in VS's team, there was'nt any obvious width on the lefthand side, otherwise a decent looking team if all those signings came off.

The reason I've got him out wide is so it's not blocking up the middle, when at Man City he started out wide, but always drifted in. Something he and N'Zogbia would both be effective at.

The width on the left could come from N'Zogbia, and on the right from the attacking right back in Hutton.

VaRiety is the spice clampy, with Parker, Delph, Ireland and nzogbia there would be plenty of chances created and Id like to see us play without the 2 wide man system of recent years and have more fluidity in our play and variation.

We would have albrighton on the bench as back up if we needed width.

I know this won't happen, as we never give out this kind of contract but if I had my way i'd make it imperative to get Clark and Albrighton tied down to 6 year contracts and Bent to a new 5 year contract so this time next year, and the following few years, we won't be in the same position that we've found ourselves in the last few years.

Not in a true left back style, but playing the role as Cuellar did under O'Neill, like a third centre-back, I think he'd be good. Assuming we manage to bring in a suitable attacking right-back, I think that would work as really quite effective back four.

Hmm, that could work, although i've not seen a great deal of Hutton to be honest so i'm not sure how good he is going forward. He'll need a good cross on him if he's going to be getting forward (if he comes that is).

Whilst i was typing about Clark earlier, i wondered how long into his contract he was, but Luke is absolutley right, this needs to be done.

I think Clark and albrighton both recently extended their deals but I agree we need to secure our main men on longer deals .
