I heard that Hutton has an interesting lifestyle away from football.

Rock climbing, chess club, open University, model railways. That sort of thing?

We are 5 days later than the Champions - and you would think the rest of us would have to do more than they have.  Cannot see the point of coming back on the Friday , unless they are coming back on Friday for tests then start properly on Monday ?

Don't they play the Charity Shield a week before we start our season?

Don't let something logical like that get in the way of a good moan.

Hutton, not fussed, would have preferred a left back, would leave us with 4 right backs and 1 left back.  I don't mind Luke filling in at left back but when we have a whole summer to assemble the team I think it's fairly lame for him to start the season as 1st choice.

But is Luke Young good enough or do you think we need a change?  I have no problems with him playing at right back but could it be time to freshen things up?

Hutton and warnock with luke able to step into either role looks ok to me- on downing I must say I'd take £18m if it meant getting nzogbia and having £9m leftover.

GED got him playing well but there are no guaantees that eck will play the same system or get the same displays from him- experience also tells me that once a player wants out it is best to get rid rather than have the disruption of an unhappy player.

I expect downing to force the issue in any case by handing in a transfer request.

Sorry, but who are the 4 RBs?  And just because we sign a RB first does not mean a LB isn't also coming in.

As it goes, I'd say Hutton, Young, Warnock and Lichaj are a decent set of FBs, with the big question mark over Warnock and whether he's prepared to knuckle down or not.

Maybe he is counting cuellar as well as he's played right back.

Surely if those rumours were true regarding Hutton he would have been tested and banned by now- probably a pinch of salt.

Lichaj, Young, Beye and Hutton being the fourth.

My flatmate is a Spurs fan. He reckons it was fairly well known that when Hutton had a spell on the sidelines through 'injury' he was really in The Priory with a coke problem.

Can I post that?

Careful, the News of the World will tap your phone.

I wonder if beye will establish himself as he gets a clean slate too- beye, Ireland and warnock would be like 3 new players added.
