The only possibility I can ever see City going in for Bent is if they drop out of the top-4 and have to accept a lower standard of player. A bit like Liverpool are having to do.

If struggling to score, ANY side will spend money on a bloke as proven as Bent. Heck, Liverpool spent 35 on Carroll, Man City 19 on Santa Cruz, Chelsea 50 on a Spanish girl who has not scored for years. Bent may not be a great footballer (he is decent) but he is one hell of a goalscorer, and that will always be attractive to a top 4 side.

I really would have thought that NRC was worth engaging with again. I'd imagine he now has realistic demands. I thought he was one if our better players last season. Not good enough if we wanted to strive for top 4, but those days seem a long time ago! We've already lost friedel, walker, young and possibly downing from our first choice xi.

Yes, if no credible defensive midfielder can be brought in I'd get NRC back. I'd probably get him back anyway.
I've always rated him despite his limitations. But lets see if we can get a Parker or somebody of that ilk first.

Tevez wants out again.

Wonder how long until they're linked to Bent.
They're after an Italian striker I think.

Tevez really is a bell end.
I'd tell the ugly little troll to buy himself out of his contract and to do one as soon as possible.
And take his twat of an agent/handler with him.
He's the perfect example of the type of character that's ruining the game.

seconded

I read somewhere that he has very little opportunity to move due to his current salary and there are only 2/3 clubs that could possibly afford him

Would not suprise me if the mercenary bastard ended up in Russia as they seem to be paying huge wads for players

Undoubted talent but obviously a complete cnut

Not sure how everyone else feels but reading in the papers this morning that Ireland is willing to give it another go at Villa and is willing to move to brum.  Personally, I hope this is true as he is a talent.  I would love for him to do well for us.
I wouldnt mind resigning NRC but I cant see that happening for some reason.  Maybe its the wage demands?

NRC left us because as Billy Big Bollocks it was only a matter of time before he was signed by Real Madrid on 500k per week and CL clubs were fighting over him.

When he woke up and saw that Stoke would pay him less than we did he realises that he is a twat.

have him back??

Not in a million years

NRC did possibly think he was better than he was and thought he was worth the reported £60K PW.  I think its his agent more than anything though.  These footballersreally dont have half a brain and let their agents do everything for them.

It goes without saying that I wouldn't get my hopes up. But I would rather Ireland somehow knuckled down and realised how lucky and how talented he is and got back to his best here and quickly than go somewhere else for a cut price fee. Because he really could be the type of player that people pay £20m+ for.

I'd love to see that happen if he could just get over himself.

I'm almost certain that all Reo-Coker was looking for were wages that brought him into line with other first team players; thought it was fairly well documented that Habib Beye was earning the same, if not more, than he was. Got to remember that since NRC joined, O'Neill signed a lot of players on big wages, some of whom barely got a look in. Don't blame NRC for pushing for a rise. No PL footballers actively pursue a pay cut when negotiating a new contract, do they?

Wouldn't mind him returning at all. Failing that, if he does go to WBA, we could go for Mulumbu....

www.metro.co.uk/.../868329-charles-nzogbia-back-on-liverpool-radar-after-aaron-lennon-no-go

The Mighty Liverpool have turned their mighty sights onto Charles N'Zogbia again because they missed out on Lennon. The Downing to the Mighty Liverpool thing could be dead. Could he be thinking about giving us another season, or maybe Les Arse is his escape from his Aston Villa hell.....
N'zog to Pool, Downing to Arse, the market could be weak enough for us for wingers available to replace Ashley and Stewart...
Incidently I wouldn't feel too gutted if  Stewart went to Arsenal, at least he's going to a club that might win something.

I would be amazed if Wenger went for Downing

I think Nzogbia will end up at Liverpool

I think we will sign Given and another couple for small amounts/free transfers

I have a funny feeling we will miss out on Nzogbia to Liverpool as well.  As much as I hate to admit it but the Liverpool move would probably be better for him.
I dont understand whats taking so long to sort this deal out considering we are apparently "favourites" to land him.
