I think Wolves would be seriously keen to do business £8m for Jarvis. I think you've been smoking some old carpets or something bigbar. £20m? He isnt in Downing's class or even close.

And Greg, £8m is about what you'd expect to pay for a top young keeper and I'd say Foster was that. But Wigan accepted a bid of around £9m last season for N'Zogbia and he has one year less on his contract (but is perhaps higher rated than then) so £9m is about right.

I wouldn't say he was a top keeper, decent but 8m's worth? nah, certainly not one in the CL. We're paying a premium because they don't want to sell to us for obvious reasons.

First thing whelan will do with Nzogbia is point to the Young fee so including the money we've had to pay watford i doubt there will be much left of the Young fee after.

We've only had to pay Watford  just under £1m.

They paid £6m for him from Man Utd. And he's certainly increased his value over the last 12 months.

If say, Arsenal wanted to sign him what price do you think they'd be quoted then?

Young is an international footballer being signed by the Champions. N'Zogbia is a Wigan player being signed by a team that finished 9th so the fee is about right I reckon.

Difficult to say about Foster but again it seems in the right sort of region.

Yeah. More or less.
£17m - £9.75m = £7.25m
10% of 7.25m = £725,000

I have heard the fee includes add ons to a potential £20m but they are not subject to the deal with Watford.

well we'll see i guess. Can't see Wigan letting him go for less than 10+m myself.

I don't know, the price of your average English PL quality player is going through the roof (see Henderson), so to suggest that Jarvis at the age of 24/25 wouldn't fetch much more than £8m is a bit wrong imho, especially one that was on the fringes of the national team squad.  Might not be worth it in the conventional sense, but they said a player is worth however much anyone is prepared to pay.

No. But if you thought that why did you say: "thought it was 10% of what he went for over 9m?"
?

I wouldn't take the Henderson deal as anything other than borderline insanity. It won't be a measure of how most deals are done this summer, I assure you.
