Because pre-season is about to start and i'd like the 'keeper to be at least on nodding terms with his colleagues before we play Fulham? Anyway you spent 3 years telling us we didn't need a proper right-back and anyone could fill in there so i'm not surprised you're unworried.

Don't worry, Greg, the squad knows Brad Guzan, not least the reserves who'll have to fill in for Young, NRC and others that we'll no doubt fail to replace this summer.

mebbe AM will give Guzan a go. IMO his performances have ranged from iffy to solid but another season as No.2 isn't going to be much good for him. He needs to get a chance or be moved on.

Hmm some things never change, Greg has probably sat around for most of the morning trying to think of something controversial to post for the sake of an uneccessary argument. I've seen it all before, so i'll stay out of it.

Nah, not good enough.

I can see a keeper coming in soon, and agree, it needs to be soon with the season kicking off in 6 weeks time.

Being a bit worried we've lost 4 1st team players since May with no replacements in is hardly contraversial is it?

We do need a keeper and fast, but I'm not worried about it yet. Calm down and if in a weeks time there's no activity, then we can start to worry.

I can see his pov, its important for the keeper to get to know his defence, but pre season ent even started!

I read somewhere that pre-season doesn't start til this Friday. The backroom team still haven't been sorted either though, so I guess that is quite pressing. We have however now got Ireland, Warnock & Beye to bolster the squad.

I know but its not ideal buying players once the season has started. The thing is if we start the season in a disjointed manner then the same people saying don't worry now will be the same people wondering why the defence don't seem to have any understanding of working as a unit. Its takes time for players to learn each other's game as we've seen in the past

Yep I think Daily Mail reported Given has turned down Baggies (who've bid £4m) because he wants to join us. Pay £3.5m, get him in and lets move on to Nzogbia.
