The arrival of Clichy at Eastlands means City will allow £6m-rated defender Nedum Onuoha to leave, with Blackburn a likely destination. (Sunday Times - subscription required)

Always thought Onuoha would make a decent defensive addition for us.

If it is crouchy then he should have a bit more respect

If it's Peter Crouch I would imagine a) he wouldn't refer to 'we' as Liverpool and b) as he's on his honeymoon, he'd rather be balls deep in Abbey Clancy than tweeting about Stewart Downing.

I think the management saga has taught us that 99.9 of twitter rumours are bollocks.

However, the 'we' thing doesn't mean anything as it is more likely that the 'we' refers to the poster and Liverpool, not the poster and Crouchyy.

I'm inclined to agree with that, Matt. A very promising player who has as much potential as Kyle Walker in my view (although I'd be happy enough if we signed either of them).

One of them plus N'Zogbia, Bendtner, Given/Foster/Some 'Keeper would be very good stuff. If Scott Parker is even remotely a possibility I hope we'll make every effort to get hold of him, too.

I think AM wants Foster but there is a little bit of 'bonding' to be done if this is to happen.

N'Zogbia should be snapped up asap before someone else gets him.

Scott Parker is an interesting name mentioned on the net / Twitter, he'd do a great job at VP - a lovely footballer who scores from midfield, just what we need.

It really is - because you're complaining far too early again. Plenty of clubs haven't signed anybody, including Manchester bloody City. Cam down.

hey if we had Citeh's squad i wouldn't care, but the reality is we've lost Young, Brad, NRC, walker - all who played regularly last season and they need to get their arses in gear fast or else we'll be hearing the usual "he'll be better when he's had a full pre-season" excuse that was regularly rolled out during MON's time.

We also don't have City's MONEY, and the market is difficult enough.

Quite right Greg.  Comparing us to team that has a team chock full of quality players is a bit pointless.  Our squad underperformed last season, and since then we've lost a good few players from it.

How many of them needed to sign a keeper? Man Utd, anyone else? I can't think of any. And we don't have their money either.

THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT. Its called planning, and unless it slipped their mind that Brad was out of contract, then getting in a 'keeper early was a priority if only so he has a chance to get some understanding with the defence

Greg, where have you been the last couple of months? Planning? We've just got the manager in, are you actually blaming him for a lack of planning? You're right, he should have been planning Villa's signings before he was Villa manager, that makes sense.

i'm not blaming AM for nowt. I'm blaming the board for pissing around with appointing a successor for weeks when they should have been on top of it.

That wasn't clear when you complained about the lack of signings and said "it's like MON never left". That sounds like a criticism of whoever is in charge of transfers, which I'm pleased to say at our club is the manager.
