Get Parker in. For one he's bloody good and for another reason it would for once and all rule out that numpty Barton playing in a Villa shirt. Parker is a much better player with a brain on his shoulders too.

Lets give Blackburn something to think about with a £15mil bid for Hoillet, Robinson and Olsson

I'd like Parker, but signing a 30 yr old for 5-7 m on big wages doesn't strike me as being in keeping with our new philosophy?

He'll go for more than £5m, he'd be a Spurs player now otherwise i reckon.

Lets give Blackburn something to think about with a £15mil bid for Hoillet, Robinson and Olsson

Like it or not hoillet is worth at least 10, I think he's better than Henderson so 10 minimum,
Robinson is at least 6-10 english proven goalkeeper if fosters 8 and only a few years younger robbo's 10
Olsson I don't have a clue about to comment but if he's average prem standard that makes him. 10 million man like it or not its the way the market has gone.

forget giving blackburn something to think about a 15 million bid for those 3 combined is more likely  to make them die with laughter. You want those 3 minimum I think would be 20, 8 for robbo, 8 for hoillet and 4 for ollson but I suspect 25 would be needed as loosing 3 first team players in one swoop would cripple them

I wouldn't have a problem with Parker at 5m. Thats reasonable VFM over a 3-4 year contract. However it seems a very very low price so i'm not sure i believe it unless west ham are really in financial trouble.

on the OS saturday media watch, there are two articles that have no mention of Villa in them that aren't in the best of the rest section.  One mentions Wes Brown and one mentions Wesley Verhoek, why would the club include these articles if they didn't have something to do with Villa... conspiracy theory?...

Verhoek yes, Brown no thank you very much.

Parker, Makoun and Delph in central midfield.

I like the look of that.

All former Charlton players fall in.

We had Kinsella from 02 to 04.  Young & Bent are in our current team.  If we will sign Parker, next up Matt Holland or Dean Kiely.

Parker and Given maybe old at 30 and 35 but 3-4 years in the team would help the likes of Clark and Delph flourish IMO. Then in 3 or 4 years time when they are on the decline 'hopefully' Clark and Delph would have established themselves as 1st team regulars.

 Given at £3.5m
 Parker at £7m
 Nzogbia at £9m

Would be very shrewd business if we can get these in over the next few weeks and I for one, would look to the new season in hope.

The three above would be okay, but we still need another 3 players on top of that, I reckon.

You do need some experienced players in your 1st team, and to be fair to DOL he tried to sign Parker from Charlton.

Parker , N'Zogbia and Given would be excellant starts, but as MF said we need at least 3 more on top.
