One player from the lower leagues we should snap up is an 18year old at Tranmere called Dale Jennings. I watched him a number of times at Prenton Park last season and he was outstanding everytime.
Great potential and could be nurtured into the club.

a very good prospect no doubt, but i think he's signing for Bayern today

Fuck me NRC pisses off after taking the money for 4 years and being an okay player for 4 years because he thinks with his supreme footballing skills are going to get him into a CL team.

However having put his head in a tub of nescafe and trying to find Stoke and Bolton on an atlas he has realised that perhaps he cut off his nose to spite his face.

Sometimes you have to have a bit of dignity so no way should he come back and for the same reason that is why ireland and Dunne need to be fucked off. They have taken the piss out of the Club so there's the door

I really want to agree with that and tell them to fook off but, particularly in the case of Ireland, we might need to swallow some pride short term and see what Eck can get out of him. If we can get him firing then it would save us a pile of money and we get a very decent footballer into the bargain

I like Coker.

He's like Kaka but without the skills.

Lets re-sign him, he was impressive I thought last season, if we can negotiate something I'd love to see him back at Villa Park.

Ireland would be the last of them I would give another chance. All of the others have given us at least some service since they came, that arsehole hasn't broken sweat since he rolled in and stuck the knife in when we needed it least.

If we were to re-sign NRC it just smacks of short sightedness.

So there isn't another ball winning midfielder we could sign???

Like when we signed Pires because of "injuries". All of Europe to look for a player and we sign a 37 year old hasbeen who can't run and have him chauffer driven to driven.

You couldn't make it up.

It smacks of pragmatism. If money is tight we can get him for nothing and save our transfer budget for other players.

I'm not his biggest fan but he's a useful squad player if he's not after stupid wages.

I just read we are putting in an 11th hour bid for Seb Larsson and are in advanced talks with Keiren Westwood.

I said a few weeks ago it'd cost us several million to find a player to replace NRC. That's why I'd have kept him, used the money instead to sign one top quality attacking midfielder instead. At the moment, next season's midfield is Petrov & Delph, which is giving me sleepless nights.

In terms of giving people a second chance, don't really think it's fair to lump NRC in with Ireland. Or even Dunne - we've had two seasons out of Dunne, one of them outstanding, whereas Ireland's barely trained with us yet. And Warnock's all but been refusing to play.

Coker is a free agent, we won't have to pay anything for him which might entice Big Eck because that saves him a few million on which he can spend elsewhere.

Pires was always going to be a short-term thing. He was just going to add some proven quality experience to the squad. A player the likes of Albrighton could look up too.

Again, I agree but he's the one with the most ability and as I said, IF and it's a big if, Eck can get him to perform then at least we might get some value for the shed load of money we've already pissed up the wall for him

So if you went out with a bird and you looked after her, took her to the Berni Inn regularly and after a while she said I'm off cos I think the local version of John travolta might fancy me only to ring you up a couple of months later because the only person who fancied her was little Jimmy Krankie, what would you do???

You forget to mention that Pires was a signing outside of the transfer window, so we could only take a player who didn't actually have a club and was a free agent.  There will always be a reason for that, usually age, so I think he was about as good as we could have gotten.

If you think there was anyone better that was a free agent at the time, please feel free to name them?

I hope we have got our eye on a few of these youngsters that are playing in the lower leagues.  Obviously not all the signings will come off but I'd guess if we signed say, Wickham (8m), Chamberlain (6m) and Clyne (2m) one of them would come good and cover the costs of the others.

There was a rumour that Blose were interested in Clyne in January so I think thats a pretty decent shout in a position that we need to fill. He would also be a cheaper option than Walker.
