There isn't a fat lot of choice for GK's. Blues will sell Foster, because they have too, not because they want too.
I like Paul Robinson from Blackburn, but as they've already sold Jones, and will probably sell Samba, I'm not sure they'd sell one of their remaining few good players.
Ali Al-Habsi had a good season at Wigan, but he seems all too ready to drop a huge clanger.
These Goalkeepers in poor teams always look better than they are, as they always have loads of work to do.

...... and how the f**k do Liverpoo expect to get Downing for £12 million.

We sign him as an injured championship player for about the same amount and now he is fit England International from another prem rival...     absolut twats if they think hes going to be less than £20 million...

Yeah if they've just paid £20 million for Henderson after watching him in under 21s Downings got to be worth at least £25 million its just stupid money

£55 million for Hendrie-son and Carroll...  ffs

£10m less than Lerner paid for the club?

My father-in-law's a Nose and he reckoned Blose had agreed a fee and personal terms with N'Zogbia when the player suddenly decided he wanted 20 grand a week more at the last minute. Blose refused and when the window was about to close and he realised no other deals were on the table, his agent called back and tried to resurect the original deal.

So my father-in-law says, McLeish refused to have any further dealings with N'Zogbia, and he reckons he would never consider signing him for us after he acted like such a c*ck.

I just think Foster is a bad idea now Mcliesh has arrived. Would they sell him to us? If they will, you can bet they'll screw twice what he's worth out of us. Will he be targeted by the Mcliesh out mob before he's saved a shot? What happens when inevitably he makes a mistake?

No, not for me now

Foster would be alot of money but I did think he was excellent at Blose last season and would have been relegated earlier without him ..   talking of goalkeepers , that one Manure are buying for 18 million was offered to Martinez at Wigan for 1.8 million onve and Martinez didnt fancy him ....

Foster is pretty good IMO, but i'm sure there's a cheaper option from abroad just as good that would cost less and come with less baggage. With money maybe a bit tight the goalkeeping position is one area where we could save some money if we box clever

We need to ship out so much shit. Beye, Guzan, Heskey to name a few.

Goalie x2
Right back
Left back
Centre back
Centre Mid
Winger
Striker

That's what I think we need. At least.

GK2: Foster & Kirkland
RB: Hutton or Walker
CB: Scott Dann
CM: Charlie Adam or Scott Parker
Winger: Charles NZogbia
Striker: Bobby Zamora

That's if AMc & Scouts passports have expired.

That would represent a good summer. I'd rather Adam over Parker. Younger. More creative. Left peg.

and if that's true, then fair enough. Players have too much power.

The henderson fee is just the knock-on from these new rules regarding home-grown players which has put 5m plus on any decent british player.. We've got plenty of them so i'm not sure why we're not looking abroad

Makes Downing £30 million then  ;-)

It was an extra £10k a week and McLeish was annoyed with the agent more than N'Zogbia, that was from one of the Blues staff at Wast Hills a few days after it happened.

The players the press are linking us with couldnt be more predictable. It's like they drew up a list of Blues/Scottish/former Rangers players who might want a move and smack, bang there is your transfer story.

I would like to think Big Eck has a bit more imagination than that. In fairness for Blues last season he signed Zigic and Hleb, which were a bit leftfield. They may not have worked out, but it shows he has his sights set beyond players he is familiar with.

Hleb was a good signing, obviously it didn't work out, we'd have all been happy with him joining us this time last year.

I just cannot believe that we have come to point a point where some are discussing the merits of
DJ Campbell, Curtis Davis and fucking Craig Gardner.
FFS, it makes me want to weep.

'How the mighty have fallen'.

Agreed, total embarrassment. As if I don't get the piss taken out of me at work enough already we're (possibly) now linked with a "non-leaguer who got lucky journeyman" at the end of his career. And don't even get me going on Barton. I would never go to see them play as long as he was at the club, he's a disgrace to his profession.

Football cliche alert but i think we need a new spine of the team. Houllier seemed to recognise that with the purchase of Bent, now we need a keeper, a dominant central midfielder and a top centre half. Reckon 30m should cover it *cough*

What is all the fuss about Charlie Adam? I just don't see it myself. I'd rather Parker.
