Wouldn't worry about Wes Brown. He said on SSN he wants to stay in the North West. Everton or Bolton I think.

Thank fuck for that.

Agreed about Ireland madirishvillain. If we could get Ireland playing again he could be perfect player to play behind Bent. I'd Imagine DB would salivate at the thought of the through-balls he could get with Ireland playing in the 'Young' role. Give Ireland the licence to roam and play 2 strong energetic midfielders behind.

I agree. If McLeish got Ireland motivated and in the right frame of mind he could be a great player for us.

We've got a really talented player, it'd be a great shame to see those talents go to waste with him not playing.

If you guys had a choice and we either kept Downing with Nzogbia going to Liverpool or Downing going there and Nzogbia coming here, which would you choose? Before last season I would of said get Nzogbia as he's quicker and has more natural flair to his game. But this year Downing has been Mr consistency for us, creating aswell as scoring some very important goals.

Downing. Less of a volatile character, although his comments about 'not committing' were obviously quite annoying.

Downing hasn't actually said he's unhappy, nor requested a move so I wouldn't be looking to sell him unless we received a silly offer and he hadn't given any indication he'd sign a new contract in the next six months.

N'Zogbia would be a perfect replacement for Ash but if McLeish could get Ireland on board, I'd love to see what he could bring to that position.

Out
Collins - £3-£4m
Dunne - £3-£3.5m
Warnock - £2-£3m

For that kind of price, I would keep the three of them. McLeish is a much more disciplined manager than GH, he is more like MON. I think the three of them will be in good shape for the new season.

Wes Brown is more like a Moyes type of transfer. (Neville, Distin)
If the 40m transfer budget is true, than I would be really looking forward with excitement at this summer.
We can get players like Adam, Sturridge, N'Zogbia, Dann. And we can get all of them.

Is it true that Sturridge was a Aston Villa fan as a child?

If i had £40m, then i would definately buy Walker and N'Zogbia for £10m a piece. Not sure i would spend that on Danns and Foster though.

Warnock certainly, and probably Dunne and Collins should never play for Villa again.LYoung, Beye, Petrov, Cuellar, and Heskey should go as well imho.

Yea, from what I've seen Kyle Walker is worth the money, he's been great for us whilst he was on loan. Flying up and down the wings, very good at attacking and was pretty reliable defensively too.

McLeish should certainly consider him and watch some tapes whilst he was playing for us.

Alex McLeish will have a £40m war chest to help him hit the ground running in his new job at Aston Villa. Full story: Sunday Mirror

Well I hope that's true and doesn't take into account Ash's transfer fee, but I doubt it.

So that is probably, but hopefully not, £20m from Young  and £20m   for Downing sales.

I don't think there's a chance that Spurs will sell him unfortunately.  They'd be very stupid to if they did.
