  Austere Villa.

I would be amazed if we spent £20m net this summer.I hope we do, but i think the appointment of McL sends a message.......aim for the top 8.

I just don't see Bent going anywhere. He even said he's tired of moving around and loves it at the club (yeh, yeh, I know, I know). It's more the not moving around again bit that's important. We have give him a supply line, and that's going to be the biggest thing that keeps him at the club. He's an England regular now which is a big deal for him, and Capello's always at VP anyway. You put N'Zogbia and Albrighton either side of him, and I think he's banging in 20-25 for sure.

Mcleish will have to show aggression and ambition. We'll see.

Yeah by about
4 million for Ireland ???

Too much ??

By about 2 million!

Any club who comes in for him knows he hates it here and we dont want him = we are in a very weak position

Same with warnock

I would be amazed if we got 2 million for Dunne

before the talk of AM I was worried about our potential transfer dealings but now with him as manager and randy tightening his belt I think we'll be in the bargain basket

We still have to pay for Bradley so that's £5 million you have to account for. Don't see Parker in amonth of Sunday's John. He'll likely want to play in the CL, and he'll have some takers too. I can see him rolling up at Arsenal, though I wouldn't be in the least bit suprised if he ends up at Man U. I love your optimism of Milner, but he'll have a role to play for them in the CL. Now he's got there, he won't want to leave.

Yeah, forgot about the fee for Bradley.

But I don't think Parker will go to a CL club.  Lets not forget he already was at one in Chelsea and he could hardly get a game for them, so he won;t want to go back to that situation again.  And there is no way Wenger will pay what he'd cost for a Englishman pushing 30.  If Spurs or Liverpool are interested then we probably wouldn't get him, but we should be trying, IMO.

As for Milner, I know it's a long shot, but again it might be worth trying.  I can see Randy and the board trying this in an effort to get the fans excited again after all the strife over the managerial situation.

Ireland is relatively young with bags of talent - his end of the Milner swap was about £8m I think.  OK, he'd give Charlie Sheen a run for his money, but one season of injury/being out of favour does not result in a 75% drop in a players value, IMO.

Chelsea was very early in his career, but it gave him a chance to play with better players and it's really helped his game. He's a much better player now than he was when he signed for them. And back then, Chelsea were in the mode of signing the best domestic players so nobody else could have them and sticking them on the bench - see Sidders (wow!) and SWP as evidence of that. I think he'll angle for a move to Arsenal, and Harry would love him at Spurs especially if they sell Modric.

Maybe McLeish coming in will be some kind of fresh start and renaissance for Ireland, Dunne et al?

That little shite Warnock can twist in the wind mind.

So is there definately a deal in place to buy Bradley then ie done deal? Tbh I know he hasnt played much and when he has he didnt look like he could hack but I reckon with a pre season under his belt he could turn into a top Premier League player. Hopefully McLeish can be the one to make a midfield out of Petrov, Bannan, Delph, Ireland and Bradley. If he can get Ireland back to his best and get Bradley, Delph and Bannan playing to their potential we could save a hell of a lot of money and still have a quality midfeild.

I think Warnock is the one who may well get a fresh start. We have no other left backs after all.

I'm guessing a lot of free transfers and bargains:

IN

Green  FREE
Westwood FREE
Woodgate FREE
Bridge £2m
Bradley £4m
Bothroyd FREE

How's THAT for cynical pessimism?
