The deal was agreed before MON walked out. Villa didn't want to renage on the deal at such a late stage they allowed it to be completed. Manager or no manager.

Petrov has torn some ankle ligament during the game on Saturday. He was kicked at the 3rd minute but continued to play. Was subbed at half time. The scanns later showed the serious injury and the players was ordered full rest for 4 to 6 weeks.
