i guess if houllier has gone then a new manager would start with a clean slate and warnock, ireland and any other dissenters would come back into the fold.

How ironic if the pillock called 'Ireland', under a new manager, turns out in the end to be the player we have been looking for all this time!

I doubt it but you never know I suppose. The only advantage I can see in getting Hughes would be that he might motivate the granny-killing waster.

Very possible. Don't forget Warnock!

I think this is very possible. You would imagine that if any of these players were to leave they would have to take a pay cut, so that in itslef could be motivation alone.

Will depend on the manager, but most will remember Ireland's previous potential and might think they can be the one to bring the best of it out of him.
As for Warnock, never really understood why he fell so much out of favour with GH. If it was because of where he lived, it seems very odd. Either way, same rationale can be applied, a new manager will remember the form that took him into the England squad.

It will also be a fact that if we are to get rid of these 2 and get replacements, we will be down quite a few quid. Net result could be that the 2 go off somewhere and resurrect their careers, while our new guys struggle.

I am certainly willing to give any players we have at the club who have shown previously they are top players a clean slate. Last season should be stricken from our memories. Onwards and upwards..............Ireland is still a c*** though.

With Houllier leaving, then all incoming transfers will be put on hold!

Stephen Ireland, although bat-shit mental, has it all in his locker to be the 'Number 10' we have been looking for. If (BIG, if) we can get his attitude right, id give him another chance. Simply because when in the mood, he is a very good footballer, albeit a dick.

Ireland was a youth product at City wasn't he?

I can actually see Ireland rebuilding his reputation at Villa under a new manager. Possibly Dunne too. Warnock, however, is an impressively poor footballer and so I'd quite like us to get a better player in.
