I wouldn't want Bridge but how about Jose Enrique of Newcastle seems a good left back and if we could get Ben Foster I think that would be a good piece of business for us.

A poll in The Mail has 31% wanting Given as our next keeper and 29% wanting Foster. I wouldn't mind either, Foster is younger but I hear Given is a good character to have at a club. But why not test out how much Ajax want and how much Stekelenburg fancies playing in The Premier League?

Can't see him leaving a title winning side about to play in the Champions League for us to be honest.

We'd probably double his wages.  That might be a clincher for us!

Enrique is quality and I would love him at the Villa but I suspect there may be other clubs in for him so could be competitive and costly.

Saw on Skysports news the other day linking him with Liverpool for 15m, Good player but not for that money. Then again it was just transfer gossip.

I would sign both Woodgate and Hargreaves on a pay as you play basis.

Canales at Real Madrid is apparently available for £7m.........this kid is about 2, and could be a real superstar, and plays in the hole behind the striker.Ideal imho.

Goalies....no to Green, only have Foster for £6m, how about Gilks from Bpool.Always a solid goalie whenever i see him.Have'nt we got a very good goalie coming through?

LB, need a 1st teamer, but would also buy the young LB at Soton.Would buy Capote as well.

Whilst Woodgate and Hargreaves might make sense as a no loss situation on a pay as you play contract you have to remember we only have 25 berths in the squad. Considering how many games they will possibly play due to their injury issues it is a waste of two places in a squad.

We might get lucky but for me in both cases the likelihood is that neither will play that much.

Same goes for Owen.

Enrique only has 12 months left on his contract so he should not cost 15m unless a crazy bidding war starts (like us with Young).

No to Given, not a good organiser of defences. Stekelenburg is apparently a target for Atletico Madrid, so I can't see why he wouldn't move to us if he'd consider moving there (Europa league isn't that big of a reason to join them, surely?). Worth a look.

The rumours suggest he is off to Villareal.  He would be a great signing.

How about we get Santi Cazorla instead then?

25 places which we didn't fill last season.  The 'homegrown' players don't count in that 25, so there would be plenty of room left for a deal or two such as this.

Not advocating it, just saying the 25 man rule isn't an issue for us.

Isn't Kyle Naughton naturally a right back?
