Quite a few people are saying Enrique from Newcastle and he has gave the single worst performance at VP this season imo.

Id like to see:

Left wing: Nzogbia or a cheaper option Joe Cole replace Ash.

Striker: Doyle replace Heskey, now that we have a proper striker Someone like Doyle would be a great compliment.

Central midfield: Scott Parker replace Petrov

Right back: Walker or Hutton replace Habib Beye

Goalkeeper: Given replace Friedel

We used to buy players who played well against us.  They turned out to be shit for us.

So let's do the reverse now.

Must say I've never seen what all the fuss is about over Enrique.  Don't get me wrong - good player and would certainly improve us at LB, but he's no world beater and I think we could shop abroad and get just as good for a much smaller fee.

I wouldn't mind Robbie Keane if he took a wage cut, might be useful from the bench to play off Bent.

*Shudders*  Feel nauseous.  Keep that scummer away from VP.

But it wouldn't be a decent transfer window unless we were linked to Keane. Well past his best now.

Here's what I'd like to see happen:-

Goalkeeper
Sign Robinson (£5m) and keep Big Brad as number 2.  Sell Guzan (£0.5m), but keep Marshall for emergencies.  Net spend of £4.5m

Fullbacks
Keep Walker (£6m) and sign a 1st choice left back (say £6m aswell), with Lichaj and Luke Young providing the cover.  Beye and Warnock (optomistic £4.5m the pair) to be sold.  Net spend of £7.5m.

Centre Backs
One new top dog leader/organiser to be first choice, we'll go with Samba for now (£9m), and Dunne being sold (£3m).  Keep one of Cuellar or Collins (the other going for circa £5m) for experience and rotate them with Clark as his partner, and then have Baker as 4th choice.  Net spend of £1m.

Central Midfield
One new midfiled general/holding player that we badly need.  If Moyes becomes manager I'd like him to bring Fellaini with him £15m), but more realistically Parker (£7m).  Either NRC or Petrov to stay as cover there, but although I'd prefer him to stay I think it'll be NRC leaving on a free.  Balance of the midfielfders to be Makoun, Delph and Bannan, plus maybe Gardner, with Osbourne, Pires, Salifou and Bradley all being released.  Net spend £7m.

Wingers
Ash to go as we know (£15m) and I'll go with N'Zogbia (£12m) as a replacement.  Downing and Albrighton to stay.  Net spend -£3m.

Strikers
Release Carew and flog Heskey (£1m) with Weimann promoted to 4th choice behind Bent, Gabby and Delfouneso.  Net spend -£1m.

So, for a net spend of £16m (and quite a bit of wages saved) we'd get the following squad:-
GK - Robinson, Freidel & Marshall
FB -  Walker, TBD Leftback, Young & Lichaj
CB - Samba, Collins/Cuellar, Clark & Baker
CM - Parker, Makoun, Delph, Petrov, Bannan & Gardner
Wing - Downing, N'Zogbia & Albrighton
Strikers - Bent, Gabby, the Fonz, Weimann

The basic idea is to have a strong 1st 11 with a few experienced backups and then the kids fleshing the squad out.  Who needs Gezza - I'll do the DOF job!!

EDIT:  Oh - and I almost forgot (wonder how?) we should fuck the mentalist off to whatever mugs offer the most.  Hopefully the Geordies!

Would love to see that happen. He gets a bit of stick on here, but his support play is top class, and I think he'd be perfect alongside Bent.

Jury is most definitely out with regards to Given though. We need someone to organise the defense, and he's not the one to do it.

No to Cole for me as well.

I would be happy with that outcome.  Happier still if we could somehow include Milner in the incoming.

Walker would be at least £12 mill surely? G Johnson was £17.5 mill.

Given our very high wages to turnover ratio I would imaging we will only spend what is raised. On the football discussion on Radio 5 last night, they were saying this summer is when the UEFA financial regulations begin to take effect.

I would imagine we have not met the criteria in most of the last five years Lerner has been here.

You're forgetting the work that's been done in getting rid of some high earners (that were contributing nothing) already though, and I would imagine that hasn't been taken into account in those figures.
