He's a ponce but somewhere in there Bentley is a top player. I doubt we'll ever see that from him again though. He's too interested in the easy life.
He's a cock of the highest order. Falls into the Lee Hendrie catagory, believed his own hype.

Got the talent, but not willing to put the graft in.

I don't think he has the talent, he can do something superb once every few games but other than that he is very in-effective.

I'd be suprised if Collins and Dunne were the starting centre halves next season.

I think Dunne's burnt his bridges here, but I'd like Collins to stay.

Collins and Dunne? Me too. They simply can't be, surely? Dunne's making some very rash decisions and challenges these days. I'd move him on, keep Collins.

We really need two full-backs, one commanding CB, one commanding CM and one new GK - all of whom are instantly strong enough to start in the team. A new spine, if you like. Even if both NRC and Petrov leave I think we've enough other midfielders to do a good job - Makoun, Delph, Bannan, Hogg, Gardner.

Attacking wise, we're likely to lose Young, Heskey and Carew so we may need to snap up a couple of versatile wide players/forwards to give us cover.

Just to offer my thoughts on Hitz.... I player I always liked, disappointed to lose him in the first place. From what I've seen (highlights mostly, admittedly) he's been a really positive effect on West Ham since he recovered from injury and started playing, but I don't think we should go for him. He'd do a decent job but we need to be looking forward - Bannan has similar qualities and I wouldn't see Hitz being a nailed-on starter for us so not much point.

Nedun Onuoha could be available for £8mill which Sunderland are apparently iffy about paying, but he's young and can play CB or RB, strong, quick and would be good alongside Collins (who I think will still be here next term).  I think we will have to look at Clark to be a defensive midfielder his lack of pace and habit of giving fouls around the box is too risky especially with our defending from set pieces.  But with him sitting in and Makoun/NRC (??) I think Adam could be a good signing as he'd not have to get too close to our penalty area.  Dem BaBa and what about the lad Danny Graham at Watford he's scored an absolute hatful this season and has kept Weimann out of the starting line up there.  Apparently Al-Habsi isn't too keen to go back to Bolton and warm the bench, but can't see him shifting Jaaskelainen who's about as solid a keeper as there is at the moment.  Hangeland would probably cost far too much for what he is, which is a pity.

Struggling to see what the dilemma is here.

Mmmm, Bentley. Remember not so long back lots of people wanting him at the Villa.... glad that didn't happen.

Had he come here and had a stricter regime under MON I think he might have seen a different player emerge.

oh aye. A bloke who prefers to spend his time in pubs in spain coming to the Greggs and beer monster convention that was MON's training regime.  Nailed on to keep on the straight and narrow i'd have said....

For me, Collins has had the worst central defencive season i've seen in over 20 years, even worse than the truely dismal Liam Ridgewell a few years back. If someone could guarantee me he would play like he did last season next season i would have him as back up. Dunne should go because he appears to be a problem child and because he also has been pretty poor overall footballing wise this season. I would get rid of Collins, Dunne, Warnock and Beye and sign a new left back, 2 new CB and Walker permanently.

I wouldn't be suprised if Johnson is made available in the city clear out this summer, would be good on either flanks.

Personally i'd get rid of both of them. I realise on their day they are decent defenders but thats outweighed by their trouble-making tendancies. Unfortunately that may not be realistic given the wages they are on and the problem of finding a club who will pay them similar, particularly Dunne

I thought that would represent value for money in today's market, a young English defender with a great future ahead of him (at VP).  I'm still not sure whether we'd be better off gtting rid of Dunne and Collins and rebuilding the CB's or replacing just one, it's a gamble to try and reshape the whole defence.  We might not have a chance at signing Walker so to replace him alongside 2 others would be a big job.
However if we have to relearn the basics of defending maybe it would be simpler to start from scratch.  Frankly I'm glad I'm not the gaffer.

And how many of these Greggs and beer monster convention goers did you see not putting it in on the pitch on a Saturday?  How many of our players went off the rails while under the strong hand of the last manager?  How many young players we signed played well and got into the England side?

Or are you just getting your regular dismissive comment in to keep your average up?

I'd take Onuha if we can't sign Walker.
