Slightly off topic, but how has Gardner been getting on in the reserves since he's come back from his injury?

I still think Niko Kranjcar would be worth a shout.

He's got alot of quality,he's been impressive in his cameo roles. I think Spurs will be looking to shift as well,be a better bet than Larson.

Already confirmed to be leaving, told 'arry he wants out and 'arry agreed. I'm sure that's what I heard. Snap him up. Quality all over that boy.

Without a doubt.

Saw him last season at VP when we drew 1-1 and Spuds battered us. He has quality written all over him

Absolutely Maz, he has not even been first option when changing things around for Spurs this season. What does that tell people? He was dire most of the time for Pompey and couldn't even get in their first team a lot of the time (take it from me, I am surrounded by Pompey fans who said 'show pony' about him) and has got completely lost at Spurs. Yes, he played well against us at VP last season, so did Jenas if I recall. And that was probably his last good game which tells you everything you need to know...

We're going to be in the same position as last season where players in will have to be offset by players out. As it stands we have Petrov, Reo Coker, Makoun, Delph and Bannan (assuming Bradley goes) for the centre midfield roles with Hogg also a consideration.

With NRC likely to move that only leaves room for 1 in by my reckoning.

As I see it our 'keep' central midfielders are Delph, Bannan and Makoun, pus Gardner to emerge.  None of these are really that holding midfielder or have great experience of the PL.  So keeping one of NRC or Petrov is important, although this should be as cover with a new man coming in to be first choice in that role.  So one in one out, which I think is what you are saying anyway.

Where it may get more complicated is with how we replace Ash.  A direct replacement with someone like N'Zogbia may see us playing the 4-2-3-1 again, which means limited opportunities for the likes of Bannan and Delph.  Or we'd be playing 2 out of 3 wingers, which will probably mean Albrighton as the odd man out more often than not.

I guess it's a matter of some rotation that will see a combination of Delph/Bannan/Marc/Downing/Ash's replacement fighting for 3 starting spots behind Bent, but we'll still need an anchor man behind them and that's a key signing this summer.

He's a ponce but somewhere in there Bentley is a top player. I doubt we'll ever see that from him again though. He's too interested in the easy life.

My feeling is that our default formation will be 4-3-3/4-5-1. So Downing, Bent + 1 for the front three and Makoun + 2 in the middle.

Had he come here and had a stricter regime under MON I think he might have seen a different player emerge.

He's a cock of the highest order. Falls into the Lee Hendrie catagory, believed his own hype.

Got the talent, but not willing to put the graft in.

Collins is making noises the defence will be back to its best next season in one of those fucking awful Paul Brown articles that read like a 1950s superman comic.

I'd be suprised if Collins and Dunne were the starting centre halves next season.
