Parker or Hitz would do very nicely.

Parker certainly but I dont understand why (romantic memories aside) people are suggesting Hitzlsperger?

Because he's a far better player than when he left us?

And that it's him rather than Parker who has been at the heart of pretty much everything good that West Ham have done since he returned from injury?

And he would cost us nothing, jump at the chance to join us and give us an option that we've not had in years?

I think that's plenty of good reasons - I can't see people wouldn't want him. I wouldn't expect him to play every week but he'd be a better option off the bench than Petrov.

Walker's at the right club at the right time. FULL disrespect to Spurs, the horrible c***s.

I've fixed that for you Maz.

We're not gonna replace Ashley's positional play (outwide), work rate, desire and leadership.

However N'Zogbia is a better dribbler, scores far more from open play, has a better shot and is capable off the front.

why the fook aint Manure buying HIM then , but yes I agree ..

Had a hand in both their goals yesterday and judging by the West Ham messageboards they've been more than happy with his contribution to date (he was pony against us, but that's understandable).

All good reasons but sorry Dave, I disagree. He was average and limited but enigmatic when he left us and he's still average and limited and enigmatic. I see very little improvement. Which is probably why he ended up there. And Parker has carried that team when fit.
I'd sooner have somebody like Kallstrom. And I'd sooner Gardner was on the bench instead of Petrov and Hitzlsperger.

What is it Hitz would give us that we havent had in years by the way?

Just my opinion but I dont want him back. Even for nothing.

The ability to score regularly from outside the area. The closest we came is with Gardner and Hitz is light-years ahead of him.

And with the greatest respect, if you don't see much in the way of improvement from the Hitz of 2005 then you haven't seen a great deal of him since he left. They are like two different players.

His shooting from distance, his delivery from set pieces, his range of passing. Being able to cover at least three positions.

There is plenty to work with there.

I was just reading that West Ham have the 8th highest wage bill in the league, so whoever we do try and get are likely to be on big wages.  Parker is great but I do not see him coming to Villa.

To be honest there is nothing below that who I want who are currently playing at West Ham.  It is obviously exciting having loads of new signings but I'd prefer fewer signings but of better quality (like Bent) and for us to use our homegrown players more.

Fair enough, you boys seem convinced. I'm not.
He's not a bad player and never was but I think we can do better, even in terms of squad players.

I have watched him quite a bit for West Ham and in Germany. Good on the ball with time but does nothing off the ball, a decent player but not athletic enough and thats why he is limited. We have more effective players.

dare I say it, I think Hitz is our version of a highlights player.  He is not mobile enough and does not get stuck in enough to be a top player but excels at long shots, the final ball etc.

Personally I think I'd gamble on bannan/gardner rather than spend the 5m or so required to get Hitz from West Ham.

those icelandics but a load of players like dyer, upson and boa morte (ljungberg) on big contracts, hence the wage bill.

they also signed parker up to a big deal to keep him there in the summer, because spurs and man city were sniffing about.
