If we're looking for a replacement for Ash I'd go for that Adel Taarabt - there's rumour he'll look to leave QPR if/when they sack Warnock.  19 goals from midfield would do nicely thanks!

Isn't he reckoned to be a bit of a luxury player?

Taraabt would have to really prove himself before any big PL clubs would come in for him I think.
I very doubt anybody as big as us will be in for him never mind bigger and besides, QPRs owners are richer than anybody elses and can refuse any bid they like. Even if they probably wouldn't.

That was what I meant witht eh ego comment Dave. I believe he has a rather inflated opinion of where his next move will be, and not sure if he is not in form he will be too popular with his team mates.

How do you mean?  I know a QPR fan and she says he's the best player she's ever seen play for them.  Faint praise admittedly but she's been watching QPR for the best part of 40 years.

I'm sure that I read somewhere that Warnock banned his players from passing to him in their own half......

I still maintain we should link Bent up with Sturridge or Gervinho.

Would he be available considering the money he was reported to be on when he first signed to Chelski?

It will be interesting to see what Chelsea want to do with him. If they're smart they'll keep him but there's always a chance they could just buy another load of show ponies and he gets over looked. I have no doubts we could afford his fee and wages.

It would be nice to see one of our central midfielders in the opposition's half to be honest.

If he's better than Rodney Marsh he's some player. I've not seen much of him, but I did read he's a bit of a Carbone - nice touches when he fancies it.

More like Charlie Adam. All the talent going forward this season but tries too much in the wrong areas and can lead to goals against. Which is ok for a striker but can be a pain for a midfielder.

N'Zog, Walker and Sturridge should be our first three signings. Then we need to sort our central midfield pretty quick.

Benito Carbone - I'd forgotten about him.

Seriously though, when was the last time we signed one of those sort of little magicians - the sort that can frustrate the hell out of us, but also do something completely outrageous that changes the game?  Carbone was one (remember the freekick he scored with the outside of his right boot from about 30 yards out?), Merson was another, Yorke too.  There haven't been many more though and we haven't had one for about 10 years.  It would be quite exciting to have another!

It's been a hell of a long time since Ash did something outrageous that changed a game.
