If we hire Hughes I reckon my TV will last a few seconds before I kick it in. As soon as he starts watching that game of miniature Tennis in interviews.... aaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!

He's not a bad manager, he's just not a particularly good one either.

Unfortunately (and being a bit glib) right now we're not a bad team, but we're not a particularly good one either. I think Hughes will seem like the obvious choice for Lerner if Houllier can't continue.

Yeah but that's not what we hope to be. I think you have to appoint a manager to take you where you want to go or as realistically close. Hughes would mean more or less steady midtable mediocrity. In terms of results and style of play.
If Randy is going to back the manager, and I think he will, I'd rather it was somebody with an eye on the top places and some sort of idea how to get there.
I'm not convinced by Ailsa at all. We may as well go for a better version in Moyes.

Rijkaard was linked today. That will split fans but more like it I think. It would be nice to see him launch a greenie into MON's perm too.

Anoyone see this?
I've been convinced for months that he'll go to Liverpool.

Liverpool are in pole position to sign Aston Villa's Ashley Young for a £15m fee. The England forward rejected a new deal at Villa Park earlier this season and has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Its not true that he rejected a deal. He said he wanted to wait until summer to discuss any deals or his future.
Obviously that's not good news for us.
I'm not sure he'll go to Liverpool when Champions League clubs will be after him, but you never know.
Obviously they have some momentum now and will be looking to challenge again next season, depressingly.

I really hope he doesn't end up at Liverpool. I could (reluctantly) accept him going to United.

His antics coupled with Liverpool's ability to get decisions in front of the Kop could be worth approximately 60 penalties a year to them.

15% I believe.

Selling to Liverpool (or Spurs) would be a mistake as they are the teams we should be trying to catch next season.

I think it's 15% of over £9.65m.

I also think we get 15% of anything over £5m for Gary Cahill... So they could cancel one another out... If anythign I imagine Cahill might fetch a little more, so we may be up on that.

I cant see Cahill getting a big move. He's not really much better than average.

jesus. Was there any transfer we conducted during MON's reign where we didn't end up getting screwed? If thats the case then i reckon whoever we sell him to, we take a (young) player in exchange for anything over the 9m
