Tim Howard, arteta, osman and cahill will be in as soon as Davey Moyes lands at B6

Given is too old at 35??

Remind how old Friedel is again

In a few years we'd have the same problem again of an aging first choice.  Better to get a younger man who can be no1 for 5 or 6 years.  Plus I think Robinson is a better keeper.

Given is too old really, so domestically my choice for a new No1 would be Robinson.

Agree about the manager though - all tranfers are subject to who comes in.  Should it be say Moyes for example I can see him trying to bring Fellani with him as we need that sort of player.  If Houllier stays that signing will most likely be from overseas.

Pretty much a wait and see as far as speculation goes for me!

I'd prefer Rodwell to sideshow Raheem. But yes, that's the first port of call if Moyes came, you'd imagine. Along with a keeper and a dominant centre half.

Robinson a better keeper than Given ??!!

Plus Robinson is 32 in October

Given at 35 is in his prime and has one good contract left in front of him.

I wish we hadn't signed bent because in 8 years he will be retired

I agree with John that Robinson is a better keeper than Given.
Given is a great shot stopper and that's about it. He punches too much and stays on his line too much. Like Friedel and I've had enough of that too.

Robinson is more complete.

When players, even keepers, are in their 30s that 3/4 years is a big difference.

Just a bit of fun, but how might a Moyes Villa squad look?

Robinson, Westwood, Guzan
Walker, Lichaj, Samba, Dann, Clark, Cuellar, Gibbs, Young
Downing, Albrighton, Chamberlain, Bannan, Makoun, Delph, Gardner, Witsel, King
Bent, Agbonlahor, Sturridge, Weimann, Delfouneso

Or how about a Moyes Villa team with some Everton players filling in our gaps?  In a 4-2-3-1:-

Howard
Walker
Jagielka
Clark
Baines
Makoun
Fellaini
Albrighton
Young
Downing
Bent

I reckon Rob Green would be better with a decent defence in front of him, something that West Ham haven't had since Bobby Moore was a lad. Green is 31 so has another 5-10 years ahead of him if Friedel's age is anything to go by? Robinson is also 31 according to Wikipedia so either would be decent.

I seem to recall talk of us getting Hugo Lloris, the french keeper, which with Houllier's connection to Lyon could be a possibility. Only 24 as well.

Moyes and Baines in a double swoop of Everton would be fine with me. I wouldn't take anyone else from there.

I'd take Jagielka - though insist on calling him Jags at all times - and Baines. Those two would improve our back four no end.

Oh, and Rodwell for centre midfield.

Baines won't ;eave his boyhood club for Villa. Moyes might, but would not revolutionise our squad IMO, and would probably be seen to try and re integrate players like Warnock.
