I question his work rate when half of it is doing step overs and trying to beat a man 3 times and running after the ref because a decision hasn't gone his way

I think Ash is at least equal to Nani and Valencia, and is a harder worker, but like someone else said, don't want to think too much about Utds formation for next season, would rather discuss Luton Towns ins and outs for next season, and i don't give a friar tuck about that.

That's not his work rate, though, that's his petulance, another issue? I took work rate as meaning his preparedness to put in a shift

I understand why people say Ashley is overrated - he is, he's very rarely produced to the level he can over the last two years.

However, he's still a very, very good player indeed, and I would much rather keep him.

What I don't get, though, is how anyone can question his work rate. At least anyone with working eyes who watches our games

Totally agree with this!

I very much doubt Redknapp is planning to use Walker next season. He's a rough diamond maybe two years away from being what Twitchy will be looking for so I think if we put in a decent bid, we'll get him.
Maybe Naughton too. I dont think they have much else we'd be interested in.

I will agree with Arry when he says if they can't hold a place in a lower division how are they going to make it in the Prem.

I dont agree with him if he's saying that a young player can have no excuses if his loan move wasnt a roaring success. If they havent been played in their positions for instance, what are they supposed to do?

Anyway, we're talking about a man who trades players like they were bric a brac out of the back of his transit.
He's a good manager but most of what he says is utter cack.

Let's try and get him and switch him to the right wing.

Its an option. I like the potential of him and Albrighton tear-arsing down one flank though.

Ashley's best performance of the season was for England. By his standards he's had probably his worst season for Villa this season. The lad has so much natural talent and when you add it to his exceptional workrate, the only thing missing from his game is a manager to direct it. This season he's been a lose cannon. Next season I'm sure he'll be on the shortlist for Player of the Year. It's just a shame it won't be for us.

Correct. Name someone in our squad with a better overall record. (Ill give you goals, Bent = 7)

Why does it matter how many were penalties? He still put the ball in the net.

Most productive player, and in my opinion most important.

By the way Gareth Bale has also been less productive than Ash this season in the league.

Harry kicks off his summer transfer noise...

“It answers a million questions for me about their attitude and how good they really are. If they go to lower division clubs and can’t play, and can’t get in their team, there’s not a lot of chance that they’re going to come and play at Tottenham.”

The Hornsey, Crouch End and Muswell Hill Journel - Clicky

Does that equally apply to Villa players out on loan or is it just that Spurs are a more ambitious club than us?
Spot on. Delfouneso, particularly, should take note. Lichaj, Weimann and Hogg have been playing regularly and should have benefitted from having done so.

Generally, can't argue with much of what candle-wax face has said in the interview reported above.

We've been looking at him a few times. He's been great for them this season though he had an absolute shocker last night. He'll be expensive too but it will continue our run of signing the Scottish player of the year.

My concern is that should we sign Walker permanently how we could accommodate two attacking fullbacks who are not the greatest defensively.
