Real Madrid for Young?

Sorry, he's simply not that good.

Shhh we're starting a bidding war here.  Yes he is Fletch (wink).

Young in form is good enough I think. But good enough to satisfy Real Madrid's silly transfer politics? Unlikely.

Still, I'd rather deal with them than English clubs and I reckon our board and management would too. Especially if player trades are on offer.

Dave, I would put good money on Gabby going nowhere in the near future. Not even the remotest chance.

I was thinking about selling Ashley Young this morning and thought, I wonder if we could get £10m plus Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea? Then use a decent chunk of that £10m to get Jarvis from Wolves...

Anyway - Young to Real? I'd worry for him there. I think he'd thrive in Spanish football but whether the Real fans would accept him as a true star, and whether he'd get the game time to establish himself, is another matter. They've screwed up many a good player in the past.

I agree on Gabby, Maz. I think he's at Villa for as long as the club wants him to be.

Seconded

Average at best this season, full of his own self importance.

If he does go to a supposed bigger club he will get found out

Or, the better players he will play with will inspire him and bring out the best in him. Young at his best is World Class, even if we haven't consistently seen that since 2008.

That's the problem Maz.
If you want to play for Manure or Real Madrid, you have to perform well on a much more regular basis than he does.

I still think he's Liverpool bound.

They, along with Spurs, are one of the clubs we should be looking to catch up to next season.  It would be more beneficial for us to see him go somewhere like Man Utd.

Young going to Liverpool, or Spurs, or even Man City, would seriously tick me off, John. He can do better than that, we're not truthfully far behind those teams once we get our act together again. He'll go to Man Utd, I think.

I think Fergie will sell Nani in the summer & buy Ashley Young.

I think he'll keep Nani and let Valencia go.

I like Valencia. I think Valencia has been very good since he's came back from injury & he'll be even better next season.

I really don't like Nani. He's a good player but he's very ball greedy & like Ash wants to take all free kicks etc & wastes 99% of them.

I couldn't imagine Nani & Ash in the same team.

Nani on one wing and Young on the other would be excellent for them.

No chance Valencia is first choice. Nani has been dropped for valencia since he came back.

You're talking bollocks.

Average against Blackburn? Average against West Ham?

His best doesn't come nearly often enough. But at his best there's nobody better than him in his position in the league.

And that's why he will be playing in the Champions League next season.
