I actually really like carrick. I think he'd be a great addition to our midfield with his wide range of passing

GUARDS!!!

Kalinic is who I want. Neat, tidy, keeps it on the floor but is tall enough to offer a physical precense (however he's not 'obviously' tall so defenders just smash it up to him). He also wouldn't expect to be first choice so he'd be an option with 4-3-3 being our primary formation.

I'd also try and get Gervinho (if not then go for N'Zogbia), go back for Forfana, use Ash as bait for Walker (even if he won't go there it keeps the option open). TBH I'd try and get a couple of centre backs (let Dunne and Cuellar go) and consider keeping Clark at left back for a season.

I'd definitely take Seb Larsson from SHA on a free, I wouldn't mind Scott Dann while we're there, either.

That Ted E Sherry Numb was always banging on about Carrick saying he would "have him all day long" over Barry for England. Strange teeth that fellow has got; dodgy Hampsteads.

Baines is someone we could try for. Might have bigger offers, mind and would cost a fair bit.

There's no way Berbatov would come here.

Probably not in all likelihood but he's going to be playing less and less for United from now on and if you dont ask, you dont get.

I'd sooner go for the likes of Sturridge and Gervinho anyway.

I'm not that mad on Berbatov. He's very good for five games then anonymous for the next five. He's just a posh Carew.

LOL! I knew it would raise some eyebrows. But I think he'd work well with the likes of downing and would be great at the final ball through to bent. We just don't have that killer pass from midfield.

We've already got Gabby, Fonz & Weimann as cover for Bent, so I don't think Defoe is what we need.

As has been mentioned, I think Sturridge would be ideal in that second striker role, however it looks like both Anelka and Drogba will be leaving Chelski in the Summer, so he'll go back there and be one of their main three strikers.

I wonder if Harry would accept a deal for Young with Walker & Krancjaer coming this way?

I think that striker line-up is inadequate to last us an entire season and hopefully a challenge in the cups.  Delfouneso and Weimann are both far from proven; and Weimann has had two serious injuries this season alone.

That may mean keeping Heskey; or taking a chance on a Bosman or a lower league striker - someone like Shane Long, perhaps.

If we're going to swap Ashley with Spurs - I'd try to get Kyle Naughton too.  Naughton, Walker and Krancjaer would fill a few gaps in our squad.

Berbatov oo - oo
He's posher than John Carew
He's gonna score one or two
Berbatov oo - oo

I realise the "oo - oo"s aren't exactly top quality.

dann is the glue that holds their backline together... johnson is an excellent defender also, but i dont think its any coincidence that they have been poorer defensively since dann got injured...

Not a chance we'd get him though, just signed a 5 year deal last month and is Man Utd's first choice centre-mid.

Aye, he's only 23 as well, and is actually pretty decent on the ball and often brings the ball into midfield... Although it's a rareity as it's against McLeish's tactics.

I actually don't think they'd be totally against selling him. Johnson is more important to their style and when fit Jiranek is an adequate replacement. They're stuck with Davies for a while and Johnson is their first name on the team sheet. Jiranek's deal is up and they've Ridgewell to cover there, so an offer of say £7m might be enough to tempt them to part with him.

I reckon it would be £10mil plus for him and I would pay it. I wouldnt be suprised to see Wenger go in for him this summer.
