If it's a player exchange, Spurs have a lot more to offer us than Man U or Liverpool. Bollocks to the idea of Carrick trundling around Villa Park or N'gog turning up to run about a bit and fall over.

I would have hoped we have learned our lesson with player exchange.

Yes. We had one bad player exchange therefore we must never do it again?

Was Baros for Carew a bad deal?

I'm not necessarily saying we should do it, but it would save us having to give Watford a cut of the fee.

Why just use examples of shit players? You could easily say Jenas in that case.

I think Tim Cahill would work well with Bent, for a small man he scores loads with his head. And  he links up play well from the midfield to forwards.

I completely agree with that up until the last sentence. I think it's precisely because he doesn't link up play that no top clubs have ever looked at him to my knowledge.

Because I can't think of any decent players Man U or Liverpool would let us have. I can think of a decent player Spurs might let us have... Walker.

Valencia, Welbeck, Berbatov (maybe?), Kusczack etc... Fuck Liverpool.
I know what you mean though and I would like Walker but Spurs offer nothing more than most teams who might be interested in Young.

Out of interest and just hypothetically speaking, if we got Walker in exchange who else would you like from Spurs or would it be cash to make up the difference?

There's no way Berbatov would come here.

I dont think he'd work with Bent. He's too selfish and single minded. I think that's fine if you have one player like that but Bent already offers what he does and more besides.
I'd have Defoe in the squad though, no doubt. He's not had a great season but he's a great finisher.
But if we've got funding for one striker to replace Heskey and Carew, as I suspect will be the case, I dont think Defoe is it.

It is interesting to note that Defoe was the 5th slowest man to 100 Premier league goals. 3 of those who were slower were midfielders (Giggs Scholes and Lampard) and only one striker - our dearly beloved Ivanhoe.

I doubt we'd get Berbatov or Valencia, and I'm not convinced by Walbeck. They can give us straight cash plus Walker and/or I would consider Crouch (not sure they'd sell) or Lennon.

I think Man City might be our best bet for an exchange though. Given, Milner, Johnson, Adebayor, Lescott, Richards are all 'possibles', even if some are less likely than others.

I actually really like carrick. I think he'd be a great addition to our midfield with his wide range of passing

Agree, he also covers a lot of the field in terms of Km during a game. His stats the other night were very impressive

You like everyone who plays at "TTOD". Next time you go to take a number two, look back into the toilet bowl before you flush. That's Michael Carrick, that is.
