Big man with creative badger in and just outside the box is the new way forward.

I think the Big Man with a fox in the box partnership is a thing of the past. Not many teams play that way now, especially not with two wingers.

However from what I have seen of sturridge's cameo at Bolton he seems to do a lot of work quite deep so he could work in the same way that Rooney and (virtually in midfield) and chicarito (their bent) have been playing.

Exactly.

Jermain Defoe would, IMO, be interesting with Bent, another player who likes to com deep to recieve possession, and his pace would make us one of the most rapid attacks in the league.

I dont think he'd work with Bent. He's too selfish and single minded. I think that's fine if you have one player like that but Bent already offers what he does and more besides.
I'd have Defoe in the squad though, no doubt. He's not had a great season but he's a great finisher.
But if we've got funding for one striker to replace Heskey and Carew, as I suspect will be the case, I dont think Defoe is it.

I think Tim Cahill would work well with Bent, for a small man he scores loads with his head. And  he links up play well from the midfield to forwards.

We've already got Gabby, Fonz & Weimann as cover for Bent, so I don't think Defoe is what we need.

As has been mentioned, I think Sturridge would be ideal in that second striker role, however it looks like both Anelka and Drogba will be leaving Chelski in the Summer, so he'll go back there and be one of their main three strikers.

I wonder if Harry would accept a deal for Young with Walker & Krancjaer coming this way?

Oh no, mate. Tell me you're not another one fooled into thinking Krancjar is anything but a useless overrated showpony?

I agree, it will be difficult to pursuade Chelsea into letting Sturridge go now. You just hope they get carried away buying new players and consider him surplus.
If not him then somebody like Gervinho would fit the bill.

There is something about Krancjar that I think would do well for us in that link up position.

If Young was touted for Spurs, which would make me want to vomit my ribcage up, I'd want more than Walker and Krancjar in return.
More like Walker and Defoe or Pavlyuchenko.

Where would you play either of these though? Didn't Harry try them both in a partnership with Bent before and they never worked.

Villa are interested in signing Turkey international midfielder Nuri Sahin on a free transfer from German club Borussia Dortmund.

That is in the Express & Dingle gossip section.

Anyone heard of him?

Yeah, I wouldnt play Bent and Defoe together although Pavlyuchenko and Bent could work to a degree. Its just the sort of deal I'd be looking for in terms of player swaps.
I'd sooner fleece them for lots of cash plus Walker and buy a more suitable player to partner Bent.

Never heard of that Turk. But that doesnt mean much.

Yes I agree, hence: "I'd sooner fleece them for lots of cash plus Walker and buy a more suitable player to partner Bent".

In fact, outside of securing Walker, I'd rather not deal with them at all. Especially with regards to Young.
Or, we save all our deadwood for "Uncle Twitchy's last second SSN-hogging transferdramarama".

I too will find the departure of Young much harder to take if he washes up at Tottingham
