That was going well until you mentioned DJ Campbell

Good God, I'd rather have DJ Tony Blackburn.

DJ Cambell?

Get yer man Sturridge in.  He's doing a blinding job just now and should've come here when he left Man City.

Campbell gets goals and would be cheap tbh.And for me he would be a sub/stand in for Bent.

Being realistic i think he would be gettable for that role. The guy at the Albion would cost a lot more, and would expect to be in the 1st team .

Sturridge would be a good bit of business, won't Chelsea want him back though ?
Plus, he's one of us isn't he?

Sturridge and bent would be deadly. He'll fancy his chances going back to Chelsea of they get rid ofdrogba as rumoured. But i don't think it would be impossible.

Watched the highlights of the Bolton game last night and once again cursed MON for offloading Cahill ... Chaill, Clark and Cuellar in a back 3 would be mint.
Can't see us signing a striker in the summer to be honest, with Weimann, GA, Bent and Heskey as the choices.
The critical positions are GK, CB and left back. Anything else is a bonus.

Blaha blaha and blahs
Spurs will sign all our better players allegedly. Downing Young and Albrighton. We will have to have to look at Bosmans and some leftovers from the relegated teams once the Sky teams have finished with them.

The new manager will not be here in any case till mid August..
It's all very depressing!

On the other hand it's a fantastic day and I am going back out.  Transfers can wait for another month or two.

let me take you to August 2011 and the start of the premiership season and welcome the new boys Norwich Reading and Burnley (QPR were deducted 25 points for fielding an ineligible player. The FA used Neil Warnocks Tevez/Macherano argument) and mourn!!! the loss to the Championship of West Ham (in their Olympic stadium) Blackburn and having lost their last 5 games all by 5  - 0 the Carling Cup winners SHA.

Villa have taken advantage of the relegated teams and field the following on the 1st day of the new season:

Robinson, Walker, Johnson, Clark, Olson, Parker, Makoun, Gardner G, Downing, Agbonlahor, Bent.
Bench: Marshall, Collins, Delph, Bannan, Albrighton, Kallanic and Obinna

That looks nailed on for another relegation battle.

We don't know yet whether Gary Gardner is up to it.  Given a lot of the recent disappointments, and the rather lacklustre performances of our kids out on loan, we need to replace the quality we've lost in Milner, Laursen, Barry and will lose in Ashley.
