I wouldn't mind Coleman, looks a decent prospect.

I would rather have Harewood back than sign Bendtner for £10 million. Let Small Heath take him back.

Maz, I'd say that 90% of the time you and I are on the same page of players we'd like Villa to sign. However I'm going to have to whole heartedly disagree with you about Bendtner. He truly is average at very best and if wasn't already an Arsenal player would be at someone like Blackburn now.
I am going to back Maz up here. I think Bendtner has a lot of good quality for someone of his age and if it wasn't for him being a complete arse and telling everyone how good he is, he would be allowed to develop into the talent he could be. I guarantee that if he does leave Arsenal this summer, it is for one of europes elite clubs.

Bendtner isn't a bad shout..a bit of an arse and looks far too much like Poulter for my liking but a decent player with a habit of scoring.

...once every three months. I'd score more goals playing for Arsenal than he does.

22 in 96 for Arsenal. Not great I admit but he never starts.

Only 23 as well...worth a punt if cheap enough I would have thought. See what he can do with a regular place.

I'm not a fan of Bendtner at all I'm afraid.  Nowhere near as good as he thinks he is, and not good enough for us.

It hasn't helped Bendtner that Wenger has mostly played him as an attacking right midfielder this season. I think he's got quite a lot to offer as a centre forward.

No thanks to Bendtner, bit of a nothing player on a downward trajectory once he leaves Arsenal
Would much prefer Charles NZogbia

On the assumption the out of contract guys go + the loanees go back + the dead wood (Guzan, Warnock, Beye are shifted) + for big fees Ashley gets the move he wants & Ireland gets the move we want, this seems to leave:

GK: Friedl/Marshall/Parrish/Seigrist
FB: ? see Bosman article re Young L & Lichaj
CB: Dunne/Collins/Cuellar/Clark/Baker/Lowry
CM: Petrov/Makoun/Delph/Hogg/Herd
Attacking Midfield: Bannan/Gardner/Johnson
Wing: Albrighton/Downing
CF: Bent/Agbonlhor/Heskey/Delfouneso/Weimann

And then the reasonable argument that the following will be past their best next season and we should accept fees for:

Freidl/Dunne/Petrov/Heskey

By my reckoning we need at least :

goalkeeper, 2 full backs, centre back, defensive midfielder, 2 forwards: of whom at least 2 should be good leadership material.

so I would suggest spending the Ash and Ireland money on Cahill (promise him the captaincy) Jarvis and Tiote.
Then use GEDs contacts to bring the best young french players at hopefully lesser fees.

Everton wouldn't mind Albrighton but neither are going to happen.

Quote from Gary Mac.... nice to see the club have targets sorted out that they want already. Refreshing.

"If Gerard (Houllier), myself and Gordon Cowans (first team coach) in the summer can attract the targets we want to get here, we know we can be an exciting team - and we will be."

I'd say someone like Rodallega would be a much more realistic target when Wigan go down.

He's been inconsistant this year but potentially can still improve with better service.
