I think Houlier has a lot of work to do to get the fans back on board.  That said, another three wins and a couple of draws might see us with a half reasonable record for the season.  I suspect he'll be heavily backed in the transfer market in order to justify the Boards decision to keep him as Manager.  Lots of ins and outs, making it a very exciting summer.  I also think it was mentioned that he has a couple of French, Bosman signings lined up for June and July.  Seb Larsson from Birminghma would be another useful signing. Downing to stay, Ashley Young to go, along with Dunne, Beye, Warnock and Reo-Coker (sadly).

I think we should see an overhaul in the summer to replace 5-7 players leaving and arrivals. Then the next manager will have a much better squad and more manageable wage bill in a year time. But no one knows what happens in football. I mean GED might sort the team out and suddenly we are be Birmingham answer to Barcelona and win the title without a defeat and 15 points above two small rich club in Manchester.  And Bent to score his 61th league goal with a backheel to send Newcastle United down.

If only!  From a supposed ITK

"houllier has already came to agreement with lerner to move upstairs in some capacity, possibly in a similar role to commoli at liverpool.

lerner has also had positive contact with moyes and apparantly promised significant funds.

moyes will definately leave everton at the end of the season as they have no money and will sell rodwell with none of the profits being used for new players.

he also spoke to lerner prior to our home game with everton but opted to stay loyal to everton untill the end of the season as he said he owed it to their fans.

now, make what you will of it and please, dont shoot the messenger."

Houlier looks idealy suited to not being the manager and doing something around squad development, he has treated the managers job like a consultant would, gets paid but not really responsible for the outcome.

That rumour has been growing for a few days now and the source is pretty solid.

Moyes did mention that he gets on well with GH pre Everton match, and that GH recommended one of the youth players he had on the bench.

Whether that would automatically extend to working under GH, I'm not sure.

My guess is that Mystery Man and others like him, are only given information that the club wants in the public domain.

I'm gonna keep banging on about signing Odemwingwie. He's good, Albion are always happy to take the money and run, everyone's happy.

we are going to have to replace most of our defence, and all every one bangs on about is strikers and midfielders, Who from Collins Beye Warnock Dunne  Walker Friedel Cuellar will be here next season?
If we are to get back to chalenging at the top end of the Pl, we are going to have to replace most of them.

i'd love moyes. should have been him who got the MON cash. Can't believe Lerner would approach him before talking to Everton. Though mebbe Lerner is learning to swim with the sharks

That rumour smacks of Football Rumours to me.

It's based on a handshake, for God's sake. On that basis, my Nan is married to the Queen.
