If city make the champions league then it will be a whole new ball game for them and they will be able to attract much bigger fish, there will be a clearing out of quite a few as they upgrade their squad and there could be some decent players available.

They are already being linked with sneiJder, kaka and wilshire in midfield and as money is no object they will spend big while they still can before the new rules come into play.

Be realistic hawkeye, tevez and toure are well out of our league but Milner and Johnson are players we should make a play for as are the likes of lescott and given, Craig Bellamy anyone?

Didn't someone on here mention that Larsson to us has already been done?

Would love to see Milner back here, but not sure we'd be able to do it this summer.

Must say ive watched larsson closely since being linked with him and I've been really impressed with his set piece delivery, he looks better than I thought he was.

I agree keV , I felt Milner would not be realistic but his reaction to being taken off last night suggests all is not well there for him and he may just be gettable , city have taken huge drops on robinho Santa cruz and adebayor and will get much less back for those, if Milner was gettable for £15m we should have a go with the ash cash.

I was a huge fan of Jimmy when he was here, but don't think I'd have him back for pure footballing reasons.  His loss will be felt less next year anyway with the emergence of Delph and Bannan, plus Gary Gardner, so the money would be best spent on other areas of the side, such as the defence and a top class keeper.

I can dig this. All depends how much there is to spend I guess and who's spending it.

Milner is a good player but I'd rather not have him back. He would just be an obstacle in front of Delph, Bannan, Gardner and Johnson. I don't think a comeback is as unlikely as some on here make out but I'd just prefer to save £15million and let our youngsters have the opportunity to break through. We need a defensive midfielder more urgently than an attacking one.

I'm not unhappy with Larsson coming in if it is done. He's a decent enough player but nothing special. However, with Downing and Albrighton being our likely starting wingers we will need a solid backup in our squad. If Liverpool want Downing they will have to make us a dizzying offer which is beyond what he is actually worth. Only if we lose him as well as Young should we go for a N'Zogbia (though I'm not keen on his attitude), Jarvis or Lee Chung Yong for the first team.

Not so sure.  The issue is wages so as long as they are under control, which should be the case with the likes of Carew, Young and maybe Dunne leaving, then the actual transfer funds will be made available by Randy.

I'd fuck Ashley Young off, overrated little cheat, along with the deadwood like Beye, Warnock etc. and i'd get Jose Enrique, N'Zogbia and Paul Robinson to replace Friedel. Then i'd get a striker to play alongside Bent as Agbonlahor is shit. Replace the chuckle brothers at centre half aswell.

Oh and Villas Boas to replace Houllier will do nicely.

There are lots of great bosman deals available this summer too. They'll be in demand though.
But I agree, lots leaving and Randy will back us to some degree again. I'm not expecting lavish but generous enough. A lot of rotten timbers to replace or risk the roof caving in.

The fact that you are unable to see past your petty little prejudices and recognise how good a player Ashley Young is renders everything else you say unworthy of consideration.
