Ian Holloway now quoting 35 Million....well in the gossip column anyway. It wouldn't surprise me though the nonsense that comes out of his mouth.

For the whole squad?

Charlie Adam, read Sidwell & Bullard.

£35m for Charlie Adam?! Another ludicrous statement from rent-a-quote Gollum. Adam was absolutely shocking for Scotland against Brazil, suggesting big fish small pond syndrome.

John Pantsil at Fulham is saying he is going to leave there in the summer when he's contract is up.

Not the worst full back I've ever seen and certainly a bit of an upgrade on what we have currently.

From the last few pages of this thread we could end up with Camp, Pants, Bent & Bendtner! Ooooh.

Not a bad shout, he even scored for us in February!

He's overrated.

People only think he is good as he scores against us. That might not be too advantageous if we sign him.

spot on

Doesn't he score for most teams ?

I don't mind him, but he lacks positional sense, which is why he was bombed out of West Ham but improved at Fulham as Hodgson works almost solely on shape and in Hughes and Hangeland he had two CB's next to him who knew their roles inside out.

He would definitely be an improvement on Beye, the current Luke Young and Warnock. But if we're changing our entire back four which seems likely I'd prefer to go with someone younger or someone who knows the position inside out.

As forwards go, Kalinic might be worth a punt. Didn't fit into Allardyces system and they're shite now under Keane. Wants out, is 23, good on the ball and a decent finisher.

Aston Villa and Newcastle are competing for the signature of West Ham defender Jordan Spence, whose contract at Upton Park expires at the end of the season.

Aston Villa quartet Brad Friedel, Nigel Reo-Coker, Robert Pires and Michael Bradley, who is on loan from Borussia Moenchengladbach, are all waiting to see whether they will be offered new deals at the club in the summer.

Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinic could leave Blackburn at the end of the season if he does not start getting more first-team action, with Aston Villa interested in the Croatia international.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't Adam only have a year left on his contract come this summer?  Would even Messi fetch £35m with only 12-months left??

As for the others:-
Pantsil - OK, put I'd have hoped for better.  Signing of a mid-table club and not one trying to achieve anything.
Spence - see above.
Big Brad/NRC/Pires/Bradley - Yes as 2nd choice/yes as a squad player/no/no - if he were staying we'd have seen more of him by now!
Kalanic - Decent replacement for Carew/Heskey if he's OK with not playing every game.

Villa boss Houllier eyes Wolves winger Jarvis as £8m replacement for Young

Gerard Houllier is planning to battle his former club Liverpool for in-demand Wolves winger Matt Jarvis.

The Aston Villa boss has earmarked the England new boy as a ready -made replacement for Ashley Young who looks set to leave in the summer.

Manchester United and Liverpool head the list of clubs interested in the Villa player who has also impressed on England duty.
Jarvis made his first England appearance in the friendly with Ghana and is also a target for Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy will demand at least £8m for the 24-year-old, who cost just £400,000 from Gillingham in 2007.
McCarthy said: 'At this moment in time there’s no reason why we would want to sell anybody, and there’s no necessity.
'But me being honest, I am saying there are certain things that happen in the game – you can’t stop it.'
