And whatever you say about Peter Pannu - the boy knows his grub.

Perhaps we can sell Dunne to Masterchef.

It'll ruin the show. There'd be no food left for the judges to try.

I think heskey will go to Leicester this summer, his old town club and Sven is a great admirer and they have money.

Pannu is an insufferable ******. Almost as much as the other one. We're better off sticking with Heskey.
As Chris Jameson often remarks, he does a good job rolling the pastry at Greggs (or was that Harewood?).

Agree, his wages will drop but Sven will give him a 3 year contract
As for Pannu, he just repeats verbatum what the other one says

Chris Samba was immense at Arsenal yesterday.

I think he'd be my top choice at centre half come the summer.

Him and Clark or Carlos as the combo with Dunney and Collins binned sounds good to me.

Problem with those transfer rumours we doesn't know for summer activity.

1. Who is our manager ?
2. Will we play in Premier League or not.

Its easier to work out who will be going than coming.  7 of the eam that started yesterday are unlikely to be here next season

Therein lies our biggest problem. They have no future here, and therefore not enough to lose.

My uncle was saying today "I just want to see them playing for professional pride, the shirt and the fans". Common sentiment on here. Trouble is, they're up against players who are playing for all those things, plus their manager and their future. For all we know, with the players being demotivated by the manager and coaching staff, shambolic defensive tactics and no long-term future at the club, professional pride may be all that is stopping us getting hammered every week, and instead getting the odd draw now and again.

This is one of the areas where MON excelled.

Think back to his first season and the likes of McCann, Samuel and co.
I'm pretty certain he made a big play about how they had big futures at the club - and then moved them on (or in the case of Samuel, let his contract expire) when he had no further use for them.

Even if GH possibly doesn't believe it himself, Friedel, Collins and Dunne might have benefited from being made to feel they have an active stake in the future of the club. As it is, they most likely know they're on their way out and seem to be playing accordingly.  Man management. Or just plain old good management, whatever you want to call it.

Percy and Kevin Gage have hit on real nerves with those posts. My Liverpool supporting mate is a huge fan of Houllier but I keep making those points to him but he just doesn't get it. Maybe it's because the culture of Liverpool FC had to change and Houllier succeeded in ridding them of the spice boy tag.

We were hardly spice boys! So why did he come in like a bull in a China shop and antagonise everybody? Here's hoping the lads play for the fans in the next few games. We have given them great support over the years....they owe us one more push to keep us up.

The big difference between the players MoN needed to get rid of and the ones Houllier wants to is that the likes of McCann and Samuel were quite frankly terrible. As we have seen Collins and Dunne when motivated are very good players which is what makes it even more frustrating what he has been doing.

I was never particularly crazy about McCann as a player, but in that first half of the 2006/07 season he was like a man possessed.

One game (Watford away I think) he started hitting inch perfect 70 yard passes reminiscent of Sid.

He went back to being mostly awful in the second half of the campaign mind, Steve Sidwell giving him the runaround when we played Reading away.

How on Earth are you so in touch with the manager's discussions with  his players? Are you involved in the Villa set up at an executive level?  Just how the holy fuck do you know that Houllier has told Dunne and Collins, the heart of one of the best defences in the Prem last season, that they had no future at the Villa?  Or is this just anti-Houllier bile being self righteously spouted??  I know where my money lies.
