I have been impressed with Makoun so far and I think he will be very good for us

Wasn't it pardew that nige fell out with before leaving west ham, If he hoes I'd expect qpr to figure in the running and a move to London may suit him.

Aye, was thinking QPR or Fulham.

As a 'free' though one of the bigger sides may gamble on him, as a squad player.

Regardless, I think we'll be facing some pretty major rebuilding work this summer, whoever the manager is.

NRC, Petrov, Luke Young, Warnock, Dunne, Friedel and Beye most likely on their way, before we even get to the stage of receiving bids for players we might actually want to keep (Ash, Downing).

Yep. I read somewhere this week speculation that an entire X1 would be sold in the summer - it included Carew and Ireland - but I couldn't really argue with any of the names on the list. Bar maybe Collins, but I suppose his future may be in doubt now. And it didn't include Beye, either. Big changes a-coming.

As far as the centre backs go, Dunne and Collins can piss off.

Keep Cuellar and Clarke and add two others.

We could find some Liverpool players we want and then do a swap deal. There must be someone. ie The Greek Defender who fall out with King Kenny (No idea what he is like)

Their Bubble defender is utterly shit.
Wouldn't want him anywhere near Villa Park.

Do you mean Nzogbia? Good player but I think rather than buy a winger we should try and sign a number 10. Downing and Albrighton can cover the wing positions. I think one of our many problems this year has been trying to play three wingers meaning one is out of position.

One of houllier's big plus points compared to MON Is that he apparently works pretty much non-stop. One of the reasons Thompson rejected us was because working for Houllier meant LONG hours.

He seems a very thorough logical man overall
I just hope he pulls this off, if he does I think it will be the making of the club

N'Zogbia is a bit different to a regular winger though.

He's not a hog the touchline- type, he's more a direct, attacking player who starts out wide but often drifts in field. So he could give us something different.

Much better than Ash in Ash's favourite position.
