My concern is GH is potentially replacing Petrov & NRC with

Makoun & Bradley !!

Thats one step forward and two steps back surely

Why surely?

It depends on how well Bradley adapts and whether Makoun carries on with his solid but unspectacular start.

On pedigree alone it could be much better. On what we've seen so far it could be theoretically worse.

Petrov's football brain is superb, yes his legs are going now, but some of the stuff he's done for us has been a privilege to watch

I think we'll see the best of Makoun next season and I've only seen Bradley vs CiŁy away so may be a bit harsh to judge him on that game

It is a good job Chelsea did not write off Essien or Arsenal do the same with Viera as quick as you Wiki.
I think both need a bit more time to settle in.

I can't see Bradley get much of a chance considering our current plight, feel sorry for him as im sure he would play more if we were higher up the league.

I'm sure Bradley can give us at least as much as Reo Coker based on what I have seen from him beyond the one game he's played. I'd hope that he is at least in contention for the Everton game.

It is Makoun that worries me more if I'm honest. I think he needs more time to adjust but I'm not exactly sure he's what we need.

I think Makoun is a very good player, and will prove to be so.

French football is a little different to the pace of the Prem. Makoun will need time to adjust properly.

Makoun baffles me, he plays the french way, pass the ball get it back- repeat many times, could turn out to be another Bierson, very tidy but ineffective

Newcastle are weighing up a move for Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker, who is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to agree an extension with the Midlands outfit.

That's nice, they can add him to their collection of average to good central midfielders on vastly inflated salaries - Barton, Nolan, Smith, Guthrie etc. Hopefully they'll save on a taxi fare by putting Stephen Ireland in the same cab to sign a permanent deal.

Wasn't it pardew that nige fell out with before leaving west ham, If he hoes I'd expect qpr to figure in the running and a move to London may suit him.

I agree. Bloke who sits by me reckons he'll be the best passer since Sid Cowans.  I'm not yet convinced - sometimes I think he just treats the ball like a hot potato. Personally I think Delph has got a lot more to his game than Makoun and couldn't really see the point in buying him.  I'll happily be proved wrong though

No, Curbishley.
NRC claimed he was 'hung out to dry' at West Ham at the press conference when he signed for us.
Always been a touch mardy.

I think what we've got in these two - Makoun and Delph - are the successors to Petrov and NRC. Makoun's got a lovely pass on him; great little ball through for Young to muller that shot against the bar v Wolves. Delph's every bit as combative as Reo-Coker, he's just far more talented on the ball.

Not sure what the future holds for Bradley but I expect Petrov and NRC to both leave and we'll need at least one new midfielder in. Easier said than done, but a box to box type ala Milner is what we'd need then.
