Wouldn't want Samba....., but wouldn't say no to Johnson and Foster should they become available, appreciate that may not be a popular choice.

both please.

Reading that article there is absolutely no mention of Villa in the quotes.

Indeed. I dont care where they've come from, they're good players.

If we were to pay £20m for the Bolton Defender this site would go into meltdown.

Personally, I'd like to see Collins given a run with Clark before I'd commit to buying a new CB.

I seem to remember reading an interview with him - which I now cannot find - in which he stated that he was looking to achieve as much as he could in the game and, as such, wouldn't rule out moving on, if a better opportunity arose elsewhere. Nothing new in that, of course, apart from the fact that he was prepared to say it in an interview.

I'd rather see Cuellar personally.  Through everything he's been the one senior defender who hasn't caused a second of trouble, and he's a lot more reliable than Collins, who never seems far away from a niggly inury.

I just don't get why we haven't used him more this season ahead of the Chuckle Brothers. I think for whatever reason Le Gaffeur doesn't rate him. Shame.

I was going to type out a big hoohah but I cant be arsed.
So in concise format, I give you "Bosmania: The rebuild, part deux":

(players in given as an example)

Out - In:
Friedel - Stekelenburg (or Robinson)
Marshall - Westwood (free)
Dunne - Mexes (free)
Collins - Shawcross
Warnock - Taiwo (free)
Beye - Spahic
L Young - Walker (or Bosingwa free)
Petrov  - Moussa Sissoko
Ireland - Bannan (avfc)
Reo Coker? - Mahmadou Diarra (free)
Pires - S Larsson (free)
Salifou - D Johnson (avfc)
Osbourne - Gardner (avfc)
Heskey - Sturridge (Klose or Elmander - free)

Not much to do there then :)

Possible first team and alternatives:

.......................Stekelenburg
                       (Westwood)

Walker........Mexes.......Shawcross......Taiwo
(Lichaj)        (Cuellar)      (Clark)       (Spahic)

...................Makoun.......Sissoko
                  (Diarra)         (Delph)

Albrighton..............Young................Downing
(Larsson)             (Gardner)            (Bannan)

................................Bent
                  (Agbonlahor, Sturridge)

Some of those players can play different positions though obviously.
Anyway, just a bit of calculated fun.

It's a good team but I don't expect Young, Cuellar or Walker to still be Villa players next season.

Some of the incomers are a bit unlikely too.

Cuellar surely will be, GH won't sell that much of the defence (now that Dullins have added themselves to the "definitely fuck off" list).

Which ones are unlikely and why? I'm not saying I disagree but, you know, elaborate.

I cant see us selling Dunne, Collins AND Cuellar. But you never know. I honestly think we'll sign Walker and believe Spurs will sell. They'll probably think they'll have bigger fish to fry.
Young? Who knows. Anything could happen there and wouldnt suprise me either way.
