and the great Paul Scholes is on 60k, shocking!

It's quite a lot considering his age but he's been a loyal servant I suppose.

You don't get less money by staying with the same club.

I heard the likes of Wes Brown and John O'Shea were on 90k a week, so Scholes would surely be on more than that.

Being immune from being sent off is a valuable asset.

Where do people get these wage figures from for individual players?

the 60k figure was reported widely when he joined and has been ever since. Could be a few grand either side of 60 i guess, but its in that ballpark

It was also widely reported that Darren Bent was on £90k/week whilst he was at Spurs.
yep it was nearer to £80k

Doubt it. Why would he give that up so readily for £30k a week at Sunderland?

If Cahill is worth 20 millions we could do a deal for Dunne and Ireland and say 5 millions for him as we already got 15% off plus money owned in previous transfer (if correct)

£20million on Cahill? Fuck me the game has gone nuts. Paying that much for him is probably even more insane than selling him.

I don't see us splurging vast fees on players like that in the summer due to the large number of players we actually need. At best I see a few rough diamonds rather than top class players coming in. A bit like under MoN but with a slightly better scouting network.

Cahill is worth nowhere near £20m.He is one of these "talked up "players,he is good in the air, and ok on the floor.Tends to get caught out of postion occasionally, not the quickest, and is'nt very good against strong CFs such as Drogba.I'd rather buy that lad from Bburn who looks a better bet to me, or one of those French guys who played against England.
Clark will be a better player than Cahill.

If we can't get Walker, i'm not convinced we won't tbh, then yes to Corluka, no to Hutton.

He's a bit overhyped isn't he?

But like someone said before, coming to Villa would be very good for his England chances. So, who knows? A lot of people would love to see him back obviously. But only for an appropiate sum of money/deal. If the big clubs start a bidding war for him, then its best we just forget about it and move on. He's just simply not worth the 20 mil. Clark will be just as good or better than him in my eyes.

He was on a lot more than 30 grand a week at Sunderland and isn't on a great more with us.

Clark and Cahill would be the centre of defence sorted for years- not at £20m though..

We had scouts at the PSV - Rangers game to watch McGregor (who didn't play in the end).

So did Bursaspor and Schalke.

If not Walker, how about Naughton? Supposed to be better at the time Spurs signed them wasn't he?

I would go for Nathaniel Clyne @ Palace if Spurs want more than £5M for Walker

The young Reading goalie Alex McCarthy looks a good young prospect and has England U/21 caps
